The State Department has issued a warning about the risks of a terror attack to Americans who plan to travel to Europe this summer.
"The large number of tourists visiting Europe in the summer months will present greater targets for terrorists planning attacks in public locations, especially at large events," the State Department said in an advisory.
Two events were singled out by the government agency: The Catholic Church's World Youth Day in late July in Poland and the European Soccer Championship in France from June 10 to July 10.
France has been under a state of emergency since the terror attacks in November 2015 left 130 dead.
Law enforcement officials told lawmakers that ISIS is planning more attacks "and that France is clearly a target."
Security officials for the soccer tournament told NBC that it was impossible to make the event 100% safe but it would not be canceled.
The State Department said that European officials "continue to take steps" to disrupt terror plots and are working closely with allies to "identify and counter" threats.
