The progressive grassroots movement loyal to Barack Obama, Organizing for Action, is holding a new contest to give supporters a chance to meet the president and tell him how thankful they are for his accomplishments.
OFA is supplying two round-trip tickets, hotel accommodations in Washington D.C., and a meet-and-greet with President Obama.
"You and a friend could be headed to Washington, D.C., to tell President Obama which part of this movement's accomplishments you're most thankful for—all on OFA," reads the entry form.
As Obama ends his final term as president, OFA is looking ahead to the organization's future:
This is a crucial time to prepare for the fights to come, but also a time to take stock of all we've accomplished together.
As part of that reflection, we're giving one lucky supporter the opportunity to talk to the Organizer-in-Chief himself about how far we've come. OFA is launching a new contest giving you the chance to tell President Obama which of this movement's accomplishments mean the most to you.
Suggested thankfulness includes Obamacare, growth in the private sector, and "marriage equality for all" -- something Obama only started to support in the last half of his presidency.
OFA praises its fearless "leader" who "has stood side-by-side with organizers the whole way" and is offering this meeting for sycophantic gushing.

One of Hillary Clinton's top advisers previously praised socialist Venezuela headed by president Hugo Chavez.
To illustrate the complete horror show that has become the Hugo Chavez dream, which continues under his successor Nicolás Maduro, a recent New York Timesarticle reported on a country so crippled economically that "hospital wards have become crucibles" afflicted with massive deaths, especially of infants and children, due to lack of medical supplies and antibiotics.
"Gloves and soap have vanished from some hospitals," reports the Times. "Often, cancer medicines are found only on the black market. There is so little electricity that the government works only two days a week to save what energy is left."
"This nation has the largest oil reserves in the world, yet the government saved little money for hard times when oil prices were high," the article continues. "Now that prices have collapsed — they are around a third what they were in 2014 — the consequences are casting a destructive shadow across the country. Lines for food, long a feature of life in Venezuela, now erupt into looting. The bolívar, the country’s currency, is nearly worthless."
Amid this chaos of suffering and death, Venezuela's socialist president Nicolás Maduro had the nerve to say: "I doubt that anywhere in the world, except in Cuba, there exists a better health system than this one."
There may have been a time in America when we didn't have to worry about this lunatic insanity becoming mainstream, but those days died long ago with Leave It to Beaver. Not only does this putridly disgusting excuse of an ideology get treated with intellectual legitimacy at every major university in America, current presidential candidates now take advice from its adherents.
Economist Joseph Stiglitz, who serves as "influential advisor to Hillary Clinton," has previously heaped praise upon the Hugo Chavez administration, calling them successful "in bringing health and education to the people in the poor neighborhoods of Caracas" during a visit to the country in 2007
According to the Mises Institute:
Last year, as chief economist for the Roosevelt Institute, Stiglitz called for 'rewriting the rules of the American economy' in a crusade against income inequality. His policy recommendations include higher taxes, more 'smarter' regulation, and having the Federal Reserve focus more on unemployment than keeping inflation low — a call for an even more activist Fed than we’ve had since 2008.

In partnership with the European Union, social media giants Facebook, Twitter, along with Google and Microsoft, have all pledged to stop online hate speech in less than 24 hours.
A new code of conduct would act to "quickly and efficiently" remove any message that singles out a person's or group's race, religion, nationality, etc. Though pitched as a way to stop the spread of terrorism online in the wake of the ISIS attacks in Paris and Brussels, the speech code would include anything considered racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic by the companies.
A statement by Karen White, Twitter's head of public policy for Europe, said:
We remain committed to letting the Tweets flow. However, there is a clear distinction between freedom of expression and conduct that incites violence and hate.
Facebook's head of global policy management Monika Bicker said:
With a global community of 1.6 billion people we work hard to balance giving people the power to express themselves whilst ensuring we provide a respectful environment. There’s no place for hate speech on Facebook.
Speaking on behalf of the EU was Commissioner Vera Jourova, in charge of justice, consumers and gender equality, said there's "no place online" for hate speech.
A lawsuit was filed against Twitter, Facebook and Google by a French Jewish youth group in Paris over how speech is monitored on the platforms. The group argued that over 90 percent of posts flagged for hate speech remained online up to 15 days after the removal requests were sent.

With one week left to go before the primary vote, California governor Jerry Brown has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.
In a letter to California voters Tuesday, Brown lamented that a Hillary Clinton candidacy would be "the only path forward to win the presidency and stop the dangerous candidacy of Donald Trump."
Though Brown appreciated socialist Bernie Sanders' tenacity for vowing to fight against the phantom "one percent," he felt Hillary had made a better case by receiving more votes and earning more delegates.
Ultimately, however, Brown feels Hillary is America's only hope to defeat Donald Trump, whom Brown feels posed the greatest danger against the "existential threat" of climate change:
But there is more at stake than mere numbers. The Republican nominee, Donald Trump, has called climate change a “hoax” and said he will tear up the Paris Climate Agreement. He has promised to deport millions of immigrants and ominously suggested that other countries may need the nuclear bomb. He has also pledged to pack the Supreme Court with only those who please the extreme right.
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Our country faces an existential threat from climate change and the spread of nuclear weapons. A new cold war is on the horizon. This is no time for Democrats to keep fighting each other. The general election has already begun. Hillary Clinton, with her long experience, especially as Secretary of State, has a firm grasp of the issues and will be prepared to lead our country on day one.
Hillary Clinton currently leads Sanders by 13-points in the polls leading up to California's democratic primary.
The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice.

Black columnist for ESPN Magazine Howard Bryant is calling police officers and soldiers singing the National Anthem at sporting events "staged patriotism" that silences the voices of black athletes.
According to The Washington Times, Bryant's column will appear in the upcoming June issue, where he states that the 9/11 attacks created a false "hero narrative" which makes policing look "clean, heroic, uncomplicated."
When ballparks host "Law Enforcement Appreciation Nights," Bryant says that sends a "clear message: The sentiments of the poor in Ferguson and Cleveland do not matter."
Bryant himself has faced arrest before. Once in 2011, when he was charged with spousal abuse, battery on an officer and resisting arrest. He never lost his job at ESPN, which gave him the opportunity to complain in a 2013 column about the military presence at games. He explained his disgust at the "decidedly, often uncomfortably, nationalistic" tone set by flyovers and soldiers singing the anthem. Or in his 2015 column in which he chided the Chicago Blackhawks for daring to wear camouflaged uniforms for Veterans Day because that clearly represented the "systematic removal of native tribes at the hands of the U.S. Army."
Here is a preview of what Bryant has to say in his upcoming column:
Following the marketing strategy of the military, police advocacy organizations have partnered with teams from all four major leagues to host ‘Law Enforcement Appreciation’ nights, or similar events.
Nobody seems to care much about this authoritarian shift at the ballpark, yet the media and the public are quick to demand accountability from players they consider insufficiently activist. They blame these black players for not speaking up on behalf of their communities, ignoring the smothering effect that staged patriotism and cops singing the national anthem in a time of Ferguson have on player expression.
Since 9/11, America has conflated the armed forces with first responders, creating a mishmash of anthem-singing cops and surprise homecomings in a time of Ferguson and militarized police.

This is what happens when totalitarians limit free speech.
Former Miss Turkey Merve Buyuksarac, 27, received a 14-month suspended prison sentence on Tuesday for "insulting President Tayyip Erdogan through a poem she shared on Instagram," according to Reuters
"Insulting the president is a crime punishable by up to four years in jail in Turkey," reports Reuters. "The law was used infrequently until Erdogan won the presidency in August 2014, since which time prosecutors have opened more than 1,800 cases for insulting him, including against cartoonists, journalists and teenagers."
Fortunately for Buyuksarac, an Istanbul court withheld jail time after being found guilty of "insulting a public official," suspending her sentence so long as "she does not repeat the act for the next five years."
Merve Buyuksarac has worked as a model after being crowned Miss Turkey in 2006. Turkish authorities briefly detained her last year for sharing a poem titled "The Master's Poem" on her Instagram in 2014.
The former beauty queen's lawyer, Emre Telci, told the Associated Press that Buyuksarac had been unfairly prosecuted for words that "do not belong to her."
"These insult trials are being initiated in series, they are being filed automatically." said Telci. "Merve was prosecuted for sharing a posting that did not belong to her. My client has been convicted for words that do not belong to her."
In a court post, a lawyer for president Erdogan said the poem went beyond "the limits of criticism" that amounted "attack against my client's personal rights."
