A new Right Angle video by Scott Ott features a discussion with Bill Whittle and Steven Green on the latest U.S. Supreme Court ruling on abortion clinics in Texas on whether or not it could "lead to the death of our constitutional republic."
The 5-3 SCOTUS decision overturned a Texas law that required abortion clinics to meet the same standards as actual medical facilities. But as Ott explains in the intro to the video, their discussion focuses less on the outcome of the case and more on the process and how it sets "a disastrous precedent that will haunt us forever."
In the dissenting opinion, Justice Clarence Thomas argued that what Roe v. Wade did was give women the right to choose abortion, but the plaintiffs in Whole Woman's Health v. Hellerstedt were abortion clinics and doctors speaking on behalf of "hypothetical women." By allowing this, Thomas said, the court "established new precedent granting standing before the court to a third-party to speak for those who could speak for themselves," thereby allowing preconceived conclusions to enter the courtroom before the trial even begins, essentially pre-choosing the outcome of the case.
Whittle added, "The Founders would simply just have recoiled if they had any sense that a nine-member oligarchy of -- you want to talk about elitests… These people are, in fact, an unelected elite and they are way out of control in terms of the powers that were originally assigned to them."
"The idea that [SCOTUS] would have the power to kill legislation that was legally enacted by the people of the country through their Congress, I think would have just been anathema to [the Founders]," Whittle added.
Also commenting on this matter in a separate blog post is Tea Party leader Mark Meckler, who said much the same thing:
Wake-up, America! Why should five lawyers in black robes get to decide policy questions on which the Constitution gives them no such directions?
State laws, it seems, are nothing more than placeholders until the U.S. Supreme Court rules.

A new Bud Light commercial featuring ultra-liberal actors Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer attempts to tackle the well-contested myth of the pay gap between men and women.
Rogen begins, "Women don't get paid as much as men and that is wrong."
Schumer jumps in, "And we have to pay more for the same stuff."
"What?" Rogen asks in utter disbelief. "You pay more but get paid less? That is double wrong!"
The beer they are drinking doesn't cost any different, as Schumer states, but so does a whole host of other things. But it's just a 30-second spot so it's impossible to get in all those pesky facts that would, in fact, destroy the wage gap myth they are perpetuating.
Yet, such is the power of the sound bite. One simple phrase, "Women don't get paid as much as men," and it is believed without any fact-checking simply because it was said by a popular celebrity.
Plus, when did it become okay for companies to lecture its buyers on political matters?

Earlier in the week after SCOTUS made another ruling in favor of abortion, nationally-syndicated radio host Mark Levin declared that the country's highest court has grown "obsessed with constitutionalizing the most brutal kind of murder."
Rebuking those who dare to say Supreme Court decisions represent the "law of the land," Levin reminded his audience of the many wicked decisions handed down by the Justices, with Roe v. Wade as the final coup de grace:
"The same Supreme Court that ruled in the Dred Scott’s case, upholding slavery, the same Supreme Court that ruled the internment of Japanese Americans and of Americans of Japanese descent is constitutional, the same Supreme Court that initially ruled separate but equal is equal in the Plessy case in 1896, overturned by Brown v. Board of Education. The same Supreme Court is obsessed with constitutionalizing the most brutal kind of murder."
Levin then accused SCOTUS of perpetuating the likelihood of another vicious Kermit Gosnell, saying the Texas law was trying to prevent "another slaughterhouse!"
"But just so you know, another bad day in the Supreme Court is another bad day for America," Levin concluded. "We wouldn’t do this to a puppy, to a kitten, to a calf, but we do it to ourselves."

Generation Snowflake is not exclusive to America -- it's very much a problem in other parts of the world too. Take the Brits, for example: ever since their countrymen voted to divorce the European Union, some U.K. college students have been whining of depression.
According to Breitbart London, Britain's best and brightest have been frequenting social media sites and chat rooms to lament their ailments, even going as far to say they can no longer perform well in school.
“Can I class Brexit as a traumatic event when I fail my exams next week? Because honestly, I’m so distracted now because of it?" posted one scholar on a Student Room thread under the title: "Does anyone else feel genuinely depressed about Brexit."
"Took about an hour for my hands to stop shaking, and for my knees to return to some semblance of working order after I saw the result this morning. How I managed to get through a regular day at work afterwards, I don’t even know," said user AngryJellyfish.
"It’s absolutely horrible, it doesn’t even feel real. I feel unwelcome in my own country," said another user.
Another one lamented the lost multiculturalism:
I’ve felt so down all day because of this, and just have this constant sick feeling in my stomach. I feel like I’m grieving for our growing economy. I’m grieving for our loss of cultural enrichment. If we weren’t a part of the EU I’d never have met people from the likes France, Norway, Germany, who have so much to offer to our country. We have so much to gain from these cultures
Others were more hostile:
I’m seriously ****ed off at this because we’re stuck with it. We’re past the point of no return, and we can never go back to what we’re about to lose… **** you, British public.
Many of Britain's younger generation have been flipping the middle finger to their older, wiser counterparts for voting "Leave." Only 36 percent of able-voting 18-25 year olds actually showed up to vote in the first place.

Tennessee law now dictates that businesses wishing to create a "gun-free zone" will be held liable for the safety of concealed carry permit holders.
The new law, SB 1736, dictates that should any concealed carry permit holder's safety be threatened after disarming themselves to enter their place of business, then the business will be held liable. The business will also be held liable if the permit holder incurs injury while "retreating from the business to a vehicle–during an emergency–to retrieve the gun the business owner barred," according to Breitbart.
Below is a a summary of SB 1736:
Present law authorizes persons in control of property to post a notice that prohibits firearms on the premises. This bill imposes a duty of care on any person who posts their property to prohibit firearms whereby such person will be responsible for the safety of any handgun carry permit holder while the permit holder is on the posted premises and traversing any area to and from the premises and the location where the permit holder’s firearm is stored. The duty of care created by this bill will extend to the conduct of other invitees, trespassers, employees of the person or entity, vicious animals, wild animals, and defensible man-made and natural hazards.
The bill passed the state Senate 26 to 4 earlier in March and passed the House by a vote of 77 to 13 in April. The law went into effect on July 1.

Orange is the New Black actress Danielle Brooks believes she encountered vile racism at the airport after a TSA agent had the temerity to exclaim "Lucky you!" upon noticing that Brooks held a first class airline ticket.
In a Twitter post, Brooks, who plays the character "Taystee" on the Netflix series, lamented that as she boarded a flight, a TSA agent noticed she had a "golden ticket" and complemented her on it. Well, ladies and gentlemen, even that kind of small talk would be considered "micro-aggression" on many of today's college campuses if Brooks had anything to say about it.
"I hate when gate agents look at me like I've never flown first class and say 'You're in first class, lucky you!'" she posted to Twitter. "Really tho."
Leftists over at the New York Daily News have taken sympathy of Brooks' traumatic experience with white supremacy, accusing that evil TSA agent of making a "snide comment" while causing "nasty turbulence" before boarding her flight.
Oh the sick, sad humanity!
Seriously, how miserable must a Progressive's existence be that a friendly comment from a TSA agent, who is paid a fraction of what the Netflix star earns, would trigger them into a hissy fit on social media?
God help the TSA agent, who is no doubt undergoing a re-education program of sensitivity training to cure them of racism.
If a TSA agent, or anyone else for that matter, congratulated me on a first class airplane ticket, the first thought to enter my mind would be either gratitude for my good fortune or thankfulness that someone complimented it.
Of course, that might very well be my "white privilege" talking.
