Bud Light Commercial Tackles Income Inequality

Beer costs the same for men and women. So do a lot of other things.

A new Bud Light commercial featuring ultra-liberal actors Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer attempts to tackle the well-contested myth of the pay gap between men and women.
Rogen begins, "Women don't get paid as much as men and that is wrong."
Schumer jumps in, "And we have to pay more for the same stuff."
"What?" Rogen asks in utter disbelief. "You pay more but get paid less? That is double wrong!"
The beer they are drinking doesn't cost any different, as Schumer states, but so does a whole host of other things. But it's just a 30-second spot so it's impossible to get in all those pesky facts that would, in fact, destroy the wage gap myth they are perpetuating.
Yet, such is the power of the sound bite. One simple phrase, "Women don't get paid as much as men," and it is believed without any fact-checking simply because it was said by a popular celebrity.
Plus, when did it become okay for companies to lecture its buyers on political matters?
