NEW LAWSUIT FILED -- Where are the FISA Court Transcripts for Carter Pag...

A court set up to protect Americans has been seriously abused, and we’re not going to let it go. We filed a motion in the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court seeking the transcripts of all hearings related to the surveillance of Carter Page.

The heavily redacted warrants released to Judicial Watch last week provide evidence that the FISA court was never told that the key information justifying the requests came from a minimally-corroborated “dossier” that was created by Fusion GPS, a paid agent of the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee. We initially sent a FOIA request to the DOJ and then filed suit seeking the FISA transcripts (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-01050)). In a June 2018 letter, the Justice Department told us it had no Page FISA court hearing transcripts.

Now we are directly asking the court for copies of the Page transcripts

China Receives First ‘Game-Changer’ S-400 Air Defense System From Russia

Advanced weaponry sale indicates increased cooperation between the Russian and Chinese militaries.
China’s People’s Liberation Army has officially taken ownership of its first Russian-made S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile systems, the tass Russian News Agency reported on July 26.
“Last week, an acceptance certificate was signed for the first batch of S-400 systems that was delivered from Russia by sea in May 2018. The systems passed over to China’s ownership once the document was signed,” a Russian military source told Tass.
Reports of China signing the contract to purchase the system first emerged in November 2014, reporting its worth as approximately $3 billion. China is the first country to receive the advanced system from Russia and is scheduled to take ownership of a second shipment of the weaponry in the coming months.
The S-400 is a mobile, surface-to-air anti-aircraft weapon system that first went into service in Russia in 2007. United States military analysts call it a “game-changer” mainly because it supports four different missiles, including the long-range 40N6E series, which can strike airborne targets up to 250 miles away. The S-400 system can deploy in less than 10 minutes and can engage up to 36 targets simultaneously. Advanced radar capability enables it to destroy airborne targets, including aircraft, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
China’s military has 15 regiments armed with the older S-300 system positioned along its eastern coast near Taiwan. If China arms its new S-400s with 40N6Es as expected, all of Taiwan’s air traffic would fall within range of Chinese mainland forces for the first time.
The transfer of this advanced weaponry indicates not only China’s increased military capability, but also the deepening level of cooperation between the Russian and Chinese militaries. In recent years, ties between the two sides have grown so strong that some analysts speculate they could soon establish a formal alliance.

    A Rapid Reconciliation

Part of what makes the Russia-China partnership significant is how starkly it contrasts with the recent history of conflict between these two nations. In the 1950s, tensions broke out between China and the Soviet Union regarding their shared border and over how communism should be implemented. In 1969, these tensions escalated into war. More than 20 years of distrust and friction have followed.
Even during those decades of animosity between Russia and China, one analyst repeatedly said the two would soon form a camaraderie that would change the world.

    He Was Right

Herbert W. Armstrong first forecast a Russia-China alliance in the June-July 1934 issue of the Plain Truth magazine, writing: “[T]wo great military powers [will] arise in the last days—one the revival of the Roman Empire; the other Russia, with her allies … possibly China or Japan.”
Even in December 1959, when tensions between Russia and China were severe, Mr. Armstrong said the two would eventually lay aside their disputes and become partners. “China’s … constant dream for centuries has been ultimate world conquest! … China knows, however, that in this highly industrialized age she can accomplish this dream only as an ally of Russia. … China is now ready to begin devouring the rest of Asia with Russia’s secret military backing” (Plain Truth, December 1959).
Mr. Armstrong and his newsmagazine made numerous other statements from 1934 until his death in 1986, saying that Russia and China would change from competitors to comrades.
In 1986, Russia-China relations remained strained. But the trend of the last 15 years—including the transfer of the S-400 systems—shows that Mr. Armstrong’s forecast was accurate.

    Bible Prophecy

Mr. Armstrong was able to accurately forecast the Russia-China partnership because his main intelligence source was Bible prophecy. The December 1962 Plain Truth cited certain scriptures that informed Mr. Armstrong’s forecasts about Asia:
From time to time, news commentators—in describing the coming catastrophic military struggle for world control—use the biblical expression Armageddon found in Revelation 16:16. But what they do not mention is a striking prophecy about “Armageddon” found in Revelation 16:12. In this verse, we read that “the way of the kings of the east” is to be prepared!
A key passage in Ezekiel also informed Mr. Armstrong’s prophecy. “Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him” (Ezekiel 38:2).
Mr. Armstrong wrote about this verse in the April 1981 Plain Truth:
There is general agreement among students of prophecy that “Gog” in the land of “Magog” is the vast regions of northern Eurasia extending from the Baltic to the Pacific [modern Russia and China]. “Meshech” is Moscow; “Tubal” is Tobolsk. The Bible margin says “prince of Rosh,” which is Russia.
Ezekiel 38 shows that Russia will be the chief nation in the end-time Asian power bloc and that China will be in a position of secondary leadership.
In the near term, the Russia-China partnership points to a dark future for the world.

Burning Man: Artistic Festival or Devil Worship?

Thousands of people wearing bizarre costumes dance around a huge burning effigy that represents Celtic human sacrifice. Scattered around the pentagon-shaped camp are various makeshift temples to pagan gods. Moving through the crowds is a huge seven-headed serpent. No, this is not science fiction or even a pagan festival held in some far-off land. This is the annual ten-day Burning Man Festival that will be held in the Nevada desert in three weeks.
Every year, the Burning Man Festival takes place in the late summer in Black Rock City – a temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert of northwest Nevada. First held 32 years ago in 1986 as an intimate artists’ gathering on Baker Beach in San Francisco, the festival now attracts more than 70,000 attendees every year.
Though the organizers claim the festival is not religious in nature, there are several elements that appear regularly at the festival that are firmly rooted in idolatry. A 70-foot long seven-headed red metal dragon on wheels named for the ancient Egyptian god Abraxas, is clearly intended to reference Satan as described in the Christian Book of Revelations. Festivals have also featured a papier-mache sculpture of “Lord Shiva Natarja,” a Hindu god described as “the cosmic ecstatic dancer.”
The festival culminates in the eponymous ceremony in which a large wooden effigy of a man is burned. This ceremony, referred to among Druids as the “wicker man,” is almost universal among pagan cults and evolved as a replacement for human sacrifice. This symbolic element came closer to its origins last year when a 41-year-old man committed suicide by throwing himself into the flames of the Burning Man effigy.
Rabbi Daniel Asore, a member of the nascent Sanhedrin, noted that the elements of ancient idolatry are clearly present in this modern-day gathering. The camp is carefully designed in a semicircle contained within a pentagon But when viewed from the air, it becomes clear that the angles are connected by lines creating a pentagram, the universal symbol of witchcraft and black magic.
“They are going out to the desert to recreate the giving of the Torah but they have replaced Mount Sinai as the focal point with the symbol of Satan,” Rabbi Asore told Breaking Israel News. “These people are not atheists. They are idolators. The difference between atheism and idolatry is that atheism denies God while idolatry is an attempt to replace God. They are trying to replace God.”
This year, the festival is going to be a strange mix of pagan worship and high-tech with the theme being “I, Robot,” focusing on artificial intelligence (AI). This theme will be reflected in the centerpiece structure, a massive wooden spiral temple dubbed Galaxia dedicated to the Greek goddess, Gaia. Galaxia is a name taken from a science-fiction novel by Isaac Asimov. In New Age mythology, Galaxia is the mother goddess corresponding to the Greek goddess Gaia, but on a higher galactic level. In mythology, Gaia is the personification of the Earth and the source of immortality. The worship of Gaia figures prominently in Neo-paganism.
“Technology is not, by nature, necessarily evil but it is often used as a temptation to distract people from the truth, to tempt them away from God by telling men they are greater than God,” Asore said. “In the case of artificial intelligence, this is clearly true. They will deny that God rules their lives but they welcome artificial intelligence. Even now, we carry around devices which ‘remind’ them of what they must do. It tracks their every movement and even tells them where they should go, when they need to leave, and what roads to take. This is not an aid. This is already bordering on mind-control.”
“The people who create this technology and the people who use it will deny that their intent is mind control. Truly modern people who were atheists would reject pentagrams and idols and believe there is no controlling power. The aspect of mind control comes from the idolatry giving control to dark forces.”

      A Deadly Plague For Iran

It seems a week does not pass in which more European companies announce that they are avoiding Iranian markets like a deadly plague. And the divestment from Iran’s dangerous economy comes without any tangible saber-rattling on the ground from the Trump administration.
Put simply, the US government’s industrial market strength – and the nature of interconnected capitalism – is compelling foreign companies to abandon the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This past week saw the German sports manufacturer Adidas and the French auto company Renault withdraw business activity from Iran. Renault Chief Operating Officer Thierry Bollore said, “We are looking to new business opportunities, particularly in Africa, with strong growth to offset the missed opportunities in Iran.”
What is particularly telling about Renault pulling the plug on business in Iran is that the company has no business presence in the US.
However, Nissan Motors Co., of which Renault is the majority shareholder, sells a large number of automobiles to American consumers. The US market is a $19 trillion enterprise zone, in contrast to Iran’s $400 billion market. In short, capitalism votes with its feet.
Two punishing rounds of re-imposed economic sanctions will hit Iran in early August and November because of Tehran’s hyper-destabilizing foreign policy. Trump dissolved US participation in the Iran nuclear deal because the mullah regime failed to stop its malign activities in the region. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the formal name for the nuclear deal, also did not permanently block Iran’s path to building an atomic weapon, according to the US government.
It is worth recalling that both US Democratic and Republican administrations have designated Iran’s regime as a leading state-sponsor of terrorism.
Trump’s policy is undoubtedly winning the economic war – and the call-for-democracy transformation battle – against Iran’s clerical rulers. On Tuesday, Iranian protesters in Isfahan chanted “No to Gaza! No Lebanon! I give my life for Iran.”
The chant has been frequently heard in Iran to oppose the regime’s enormous expenditures to the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah and to radical Islamic organizations in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
On the economic front, Iran’s currency skidded to a painfully new low on Monday, dropping to 122,000 rials to the dollar.
To further ostracize Iran’s regime, the ability to disconnect Tehran’s financial system from the Swift interbank messaging network needs to be part of the US sanctions toolkit, according to Iran experts. Yet the German government seeks to toss an economic wrench into the US sanctions process vis-a-vis Iran.
As my Foundation for Defense of Democracies colleagues, Mark Dubowitz and Richard Goldberg noted in a June Wall Street Journal commentary, “German officials have indicated their goal: to ensure that Iran remains connected to the Swift system – formally called the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication – that facilitates global financial transactions.”
They added that “By protecting Iran’s access to the Swift network, Germany hopes to preserve Europe’s ability to pay for Iranian oil and receive payment for European exports, in contravention of US sanctions. The Germans know that any maximum-pressure campaign against Iran cannot succeed if Iran remains connected to Swift.”
Yigal Carmon, the founder and president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), described Germany’s policy as “legitimizing Iran – even championing it.” He added that “Unfortunately, Germany’s grand government coalition and the opposition parties are united in defense of Iran and against the US. This shows the depths of Germany’s moral eclipse and its ideological blinders.”
Labor unrest – traditionally a solid indicator of the lack of stability in middle eastern countries – broke out last week in the teacher’s sector. Iranian teachers demonstrated against low salaries and a woefully inadequate pay increase. Radio Farda reported, based on a Khabar Online news story, that “Teachers Trade Union activists believe that the increase does not correspond with the current inflation rate and the quality of teachers’ livelihood.”
The ethos of democracy promotion, an improved livelihood and the desire for regime change are in the air and on the streets of Iran.
The escalating US economic pressure-point campaign against Iran’s economy appears to have spilled over in positive ways into the military sector.
On the military front, Iran’s bellicose activities – with the use of its small boats against US navy vessels in the Persian Gulf – have come to a halt this year.
The opening salvo in Iran’s jingoistic rhetoric was launched by Iran’s allegedly pragmatic president Hassan Rouhani who said on July 22: “America should know that peace with Iran is the ‘Mother of all Peace,’ and war with Iran is the ‘Mother of all Wars.’”
Trump responded in a Tweet composed all in caps: “NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE. WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!”
The US administration seeks an improved nuclear and regional deal with Tehran. To build on economic sanctions, the role of credible military threats against Iran can influence a change in the behavior of the ayatollahs.
Take the example of Israel in 2010. When Iran announced it would send a vessel to aid the US- and EU-classified terrorist entity Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the IDF said it would intercept the ship. Iran quickly capitulated, and the ship did not depart.
Iran’s economy will continue to crater into a bottomless pit of misery if the US maintains its campaign of maximum economic pressure. Economic warfare without military intervention has a solid chance to contribute to the demise of Iran’s regime – or, at a minimum, the reversal of Iranian warmongering in the region.
