The Keys To Faithfulness

Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection.
–Hebrews 11:35

Hebrews 11 is full of men and women who remained faithful to God in spite of their circumstances. What is it that allowed their faith to endure?

First of all, they were focused on future rewards instead of the present results. Look at Hebrews 11:35: “Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection.” One thing all the men and women in Hebrews 11 had in common was they died without seeing the full results of their faithfulness to God. And that has been God’s pattern throughout history. The people God has blessed most are people who have died without seeing the full results of their faithfulness to God.

I think about William Wilberforce, the Christian abolitionist who prayed and worked for fifty years to abolish slavery in Great Britain. It was only on his deathbed that the British people decided to rid their country of that terrible practice.

I think about Hudson Taylor, a missionary to China. He spent decades striving to reach people in inland China while fighting all kinds of hardships and depression, often taking two steps back for every one step forward. Yet today, millions of Chinese people embrace the Christian faith because of the faithful witness of Hudson Taylor.

That is what true faith is. You will never exercise obedience to God until you are focused on future rewards rather than present results. Remember Hebrews 11:6: “He who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” You will never consistently obey God in your life until you are absolutely convinced that God will reward you–not immediately, but ultimately–for your faithfulness to Him.

A second characteristic these Christians in Hebrews 11 had is that they were more concerned with God’s approval than they were their own comfort. Verse 39 says, “And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised.” You will never consistently obey God until you start to live your life for an audience of One. In the end, it is only what God thinks of you that really matters. That is the kind of faith that endures.

Becoming the “Filth of the World” We have been made as the filth of the world… 1 CORINTHIANS 4:13

Very few Jewish people in the world are poorer than those in Ukraine. And now the looming threat of a Russian invasion has left them terrified.

 Dear Carl,

Very few Jewish people in the world are poorer than those in Ukraine. And now the looming threat of a Russian invasion has left them terrified. Many elderly Holocaust survivors have no living relatives to help care for them in their old age, and they still suffer the physical, mental, and emotional scars of the horror they endured. Today I'm asking you to join hands with us in reaching out to help them in this time of urgent crisis.

For a number of years now, we've been providing food, medicine, warm blankets and coats, and other vital necessities to the poor Holocaust survivors of Ukraine. But now we need to do even more. With the threat of war growing, they need us now more than ever. It's not right for these precious people who endured so much to be living with hunger and digging through dumpsters looking for food to eat.

Together we can show them that they are not forgotten. Together we can show them that true Christians love and care for the Jewish people. Together we can meet the urgent needs of “the least of these” in Ukraine. Your generous gift today will be God's hands of love in action to these poor Holocaust survivors.

Black Lives Matter shuts down fundraising days after liberal states threatened legal action

Black Lives Matter shut down all of its online fundraising streams late Wednesday afternoon, just days after California threatened to hold the charity's leaders personally liable over its lack of financial transparency.

The move comes less than a week after a Washington Examiner investigation found that BLM has had no known leader in charge of its $60 million bankroll since its co-founder resigned in May. California and Washington recently ordered BLM to cease all fundraising activities in their blue states due to the failure of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, the legal entity that represents the national BLM movement, to report information about its finances in 2020, the year it raised tens of millions amid the racial protests and riots that followed George Floyd's killing.

"We take these matters seriously and have taken immediate action," an unidentified spokesperson for the BLMGNF told the Washington Examiner. "We have immediately engaged compliance counsel to address any issues related to state fundraising compliance. In the interim, we have shut down online fundraising as we work quickly to ensure we are meeting all compliance requirements."

CALIFORNIA THREATENS TO HOLD BLM'S LEADERS PERSONALLY LIABLE OVER MISSING FINANCIAL RECORDS

The donation button that used to be featured prominently on BLM's website was nowhere to be found as of Wednesday evening.

The California Department of Justice told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday that "BLMGNF is prohibited from soliciting donations so long as its status is listed as delinquent."

Despite the notice, BLM accepted a $1 donation from a Washington Examiner reporter based in California on Wednesday morning.

The California DOJ said Wednesday afternoon that it would not confirm or deny an investigation into BLM so as to "protect its integrity."

BLM also received notice from the state of Washington on Jan. 5 to "immediately cease" all fundraising activities in the state. Washington warned the charity that it could face fines of $2,000 for each violation, but as recently as Monday, the charity accepted a $1 contribution from a Washington resident.

BLM'S MILLIONS UNACCOUNTED FOR AFTER LEADERS QUIETLY JUMPED SHIP

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita previously said BLM's refusal to answer basic questions about its finances and operations fits a common and disturbing pattern.

"It appears that the house of cards may be falling, and this happens eventually with nearly every scam, scheme, or illegal enterprise," Rokita, a Republican, said in an interview with the Washington Examiner. "I see patterns that scams kind of universally take: failure to provide board members, failure to provide even executive directors, failure to make your filings available. It all leads to suspicion."

Rokita said he would not confirm or deny that his office is investigating BLM, but he said the Washington Examiner's reporting on the group "certainly cause us to be concerned."

BLM's charity registration is also out of compliance in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Virginia.
