Hell Is Real Embracing the Reality of Eternal Consequences. November 13th, 2024 • Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hell Is Real

Embracing the Reality of Eternal Consequences.

In our daily lives, it's easy to become preoccupied with immediate concerns, often neglecting the profound truths of eternity. One such truth is the reality of hell a topic that, though uncomfortable, is essential to our faith and understanding of God's justice.

Jesus's Teachings on Hell

Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, spoke more about hell than anyone else in Scripture. He described it as a place of "outer darkness" (Matthew 8:12), a "fiery furnace" (Matthew 13:42), and a realm where both body and soul can be destroyed (Matthew 10:28). These vivid descriptions serve as solemn reminders of the seriousness of sin and the consequences of rejecting God's grace.

The Urgency of the Gospel

Understanding the reality of hell should ignite a sense of urgency within us to share the gospel. The Apostle Paul expressed deep sorrow for those who were lost, stating, "I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart" (Romans 9:2). This compassion drove him to tirelessly proclaim the message of salvation. Similarly, we are called to reach out to those around us, sharing the hope found in Christ.

Reflecting on Our Beliefs

It's crucial to examine whether our lives reflect a true belief in the existence of hell. Do we prioritize sharing the gospel with others? Are we willing to step out of our comfort zones to discuss matters of eternal significance? Our actions often reveal the depth of our convictions.

The Sacrifice of Christ

The reality of hell also magnifies the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for us. He endured the full weight of God's wrath, a punishment we deserved, so that we might have eternal life. This profound act of love should compel us to live in gratitude and obedience, continually sharing His message of redemption.

Living in Light of Eternity

Acknowledging the reality of hell should transform our daily lives. It should lead us to:

  • Pray for the Lost: Regularly intercede for those who do not know Christ, asking God to soften their hearts and open their eyes to the truth.

  • Share the Gospel Boldly: Take every opportunity to discuss your faith, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions.

  • Live Holy Lives: Strive to live in a manner worthy of the calling we've received, reflecting Christ's love and holiness in all we do.

In conclusion, the reality of hell is a sobering truth that should influence our thoughts, actions, and priorities. Let us embrace this truth, allowing it to deepen our faith and drive us to share the life-saving message of Jesus Christ with a world in desperate need.

Fallen humanity needs to be shaken and discomfited lest they perish eternally .

No he’ll, no satan. A dark place with an opportunity to repent, of even the most heinous crime on earth, sounds right. A loving God, I can’t imagine would send a soul to a fiery place without giving redemption. Sin leading to hell plain and simple is childish thought without question. You also cannot believe the human writers of the Bible weren’t influenced by bias, or wrote without human error.

The Bible is not univocal and has no consistent teaching on hell or the afterlife. Good scholarship has proven this. Hell is a concept that was fully developed centuries after the Bible was written. Our current concept of hell comes a lot more from Dante's Inferno than from the Bible and from Near Death Experiences that are subjective at best and are efforts at notoriety and money-grabbing at worst. Dan McClellan on Youtube channel goes into great detail on this as does Bart Ehrman in a very good book on how the Christian view of the afterlife evolved in the centuries following the period in which the Bible was written.

To question the inerrant word of God by the means of a secular book shows a deep misunderstanding of the Holy scriptures.Only through the illumination of the Holy Spirit can one truly grasp the written word of the Living God.

Your erroneous comments on hell show your lack of knowledge of scripture. Hell ( or any of its other pseudonyms) is real and was created by God Himself as a place of temporary incarceration for Satan and his co conspirators. Man goes there because he chooses to. He does that by rejecting God and His commands. In other words we choose our own destiny by our attitudes and actions.

What ever hell is or isnt is beside the point. Jesus describes it so it is real. It will most definitely be a separation from God. Dante’s version is irrelevant. So are anecdotal examples from NDEs. We can’t , imo, wrap our human brains around the majesticness of heaven or the desolateness of hell.

Hi what's wrong with the conception of hell I think we are living in it with all the evil that surrounds us , no discipline jails out of control , not enough Police to catch criminals , drug misuse and if you catch anyone doing anything wrong your the one one that suffers for it because the law is on the side of the criminals
