Department of Ed Ditches “Pride Month,” Celebrates Title IX Instead

It feels like just yesterday when you knew which bathroom to use, and girls’ sports were, well, for girls. Lately, though, it seems like common sense took a long vacation, and some people in charge decided to rewrite all the old, simple rules, especially when it comes to our schools and our kids.

Many parents have been scratching their heads, wondering if anyone in Washington remembers what’s truly important for families and for protecting young people. It’s been a bit like watching a confusing movie where you can’t quite tell the good guys from the ones pushing wacky ideas. But hold onto your hats, because it looks like someone finally found the remote control.

That’s right, a refreshing breeze of common sense is blowing through the halls of government! President Donald Trump’s Education Department has just announced that June will now be celebrated as “Title IX Month.” This is a big change from the previous administration, which seemed more interested in pushing other agendas during the summer kickoff.

For too long, it felt like the people in charge were twisting good rules to mean something they were never meant to. Title IX was passed way back to make sure girls and women got a fair shake, especially in sports and education. But lately? It felt like it was being used to push confusing ideas about gender, instead of protecting our daughters. The Trump administration says “enough!”

They’re spending June highlighting how they’re working to protect female sports and private spaces for girls. This is a direct pushback against the “woke” wave that tried to put boys in girls’ locker rooms and called it progress. It’s about getting back to basics and what Title IX originally stood for – fairness and safety for girls and women.

And this isn’t just talk. The Education Department, under Secretary Linda McMahon, is already taking action. They’ve launched investigations into some really concerning situations that happened under the old leadership. For example, they’re looking into the University of Wyoming. Can you believe a male student was allowed into a girls’ sorority and even lived in their female-only housing? The lawsuit from the sorority members describes disturbing incidents, including the male student reportedly watching female students in private moments. That’s not right, and it’s good to see someone stepping in.

Then there’s a case in Colorado’s Jefferson County Public Schools. Imagine getting a notice that your daughter would be sharing overnight school trip rooms with other girls, only to find out the school has a very different idea of what a “girl” is.

From ‘The Daily Wire’:

In a press release, the Education Department notes that Jefferson County Public Schools “allegedly misleads parents by informing them that girls and boys will be separated for overnight accommodations without divulging that its definition of ‘girl’ includes boys who claim a female identity.”

That’s just plain sneaky, and thankfully, the grown-ups are now in charge of investigating this kind of nonsense. Parents deserve honesty from schools, not trickery.

This all ties into a bigger promise from President Trump and Secretary McMahon: giving control over children’s education back to states and, most importantly, back to parents. They’ve been very open about wanting to get the federal government’s nose out of local school business, and maybe even get rid of the federal Department of Education altogether one day. Since President Trump returned to office, his Education Department has also started looking into states like California and Maine for possibly not respecting parental rights laws. It’s all about making sure moms and dads are in the driver’s seat when it comes to their kids’ learning and well-being.

It’s a welcome change to see an administration that values traditional principles and isn’t afraid to say that girls are girls and boys are boys. Celebrating Title IX for its true purpose – protecting and promoting opportunities for women and girls – is a giant step back towards sanity. This isn’t just about a month; it’s about sending a clear message that the safety, privacy, and fairness for our daughters are top priorities once again. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of rolling back the more extreme policies and restoring common sense across the board.
