The Spirit of the Anti-Christ is Here and Identifiable And How Do the Scriptures Say We Identify It? Yesterday I received an email that led me to write this letter instead of the continuing Insights into the book of Matthew. The email said that Jesus was not the Christ. I would assumed that they were not a Christian but the writer said he was a “Christian” and after looking into this I discovered that the growing number of “Christians” that believe this is staggering. Without “Christ”, the “Messiah”, the “Son of God”, the “Anointed One” who came in the flesh to be one of us [our Kinsman Redeemer] and provide a means for salvation by conquering death, there is absolutely no point to being a Christian at all. Even the Apostle Paul makes this clear in 1 Cor 15:14-15. Jesus Christ said of Himself in John 10:17-18 that He has the power to lay down His life and take it up again. Only God can do that. Let me explain why this growing belief that Jesus is not the Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is so dangerous. Why is Jesus given the title “Christ” (as in Jesus Christ)? To recognize the workings of the Anti-Christ, it is important that we understand the phrase Jesus Christ. Jesus is his name, and Christ is his title. The title of Christ comes from the Greek word χριστός which means “Anointed One” and in Hebrew, מָשִׁיחַ means “messiah”, or the “One who is Anointed”. The term Jesus Christ therefore is an acknowledgment that Jesus is indeed the Messiah, the Son of God, who was anointed by God and is our Savior. If we leave out the title Christ, we have placed him at the level of a mere human man and not God, nor the Son of God. It is therefore critically important that, as Christians, acknowledge Jesus as Christ (the Anointed Son of God), and follow Him, as our Lord (Master). Satan does Not want us to acknowledge Jesus as the “Christ” John the Apostle (son of Zebedee) in 1 John 4:1-3, gives us a test by which we can know which information is definitely not from God but from spirits who are against God. John tells us that we must not trust everything but are to evaluate and determine whether they provide information that is from God or not from God: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1). John then tells us what specifically to look for. The original Koine Greek (Textus Receptus) text precisely says (1 John 4:3):
In the King James Version, this verse is translated into English as: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. In The Pure Word, direct Greek to English extraction, this verse explicitly states: And every spirit that is not Confessing Jesus Christ came inside (Sinless) Flesh Nature is definitely not from God, and this is of the antichrist, that you are now Hearing that is coming, and already is in the satan's world. Please remember that the Greek says Jesus Christ. The reason Satan does not want to declare that Jesus is the Christ, or the anointed Son of God is that it is contrary to their plan to “substitute” themselves in the place of God. To accomplish this substitution, Satan must say that Jesus is merely a man and not the anointed one or Son of God. Satan can then setup the anti-Christ. “Anti” means to be a substitute for, so he desires to set himself up, and mankind in general, as a substitute for Jesus and declare that Satan is God. Satan clearly can’t do that if anyone preaches that Jesus is the Son of God so he has to remove the title “Christ” wherever he can. Any spirit that does not give Jesus the title “Christ” (or Anointed Son of God) is definitely not from God. John also warns us that the spirit of the anti-Christ was already in the world 1,900 years ago and by now he has had time to manipulate the world to believe that Jesus was not the Christ. [This is also what the Jewish religious rulers who had Jesus crucified said and is a continuous theme of Satan]. If you look at the world today, we already know that what John said is true and Satan is at work. I’ve already shown in a prior email that over 75% of all those who say they are Christian, by their own admission, do not follow the Bible nor feel it’s necessary to be led by the Holy Spirit. Most "feel" that if you are a "good person" you'll simply go to heaven. John had a special relationship with Jesus, as one that Jesus Loved. John was also given the prophecies from Jesus Christ to write the Book of Revelation and let us know what was coming in these last days. He knew that Satan’s goal was to eliminate “Christ” from Jesus’ title, and he is warning us. There are over 450 Translations and most Remove “Christ” Let’s look at some of the most popular translations today and see if they leave out the word “Christ” in this verse where John warns that anything that doesn’t acknowledges that Jesus is “Christ” is not from God is in fact from the spirit of the anti-christ. You’ll find it interesting that nearly every man-made translation since 1881 removed Jesus’ title of Christ in verse 1 John 4:3 even though the Greek says it. [I am always at awe at how powerful God’s Word is and how God so plainly and clearly tells us something which we can then clearly identify with little effort.] - Revised Standard Version (RSV) ... and every spirit which does not confess Jesus (“Christ” removed) is not of God. By intentionally leaving out “Christ”, those translations that have done that are tattle-tailing on themselves that their own text is not correct, and are saying that Jesus is not from God and are declaring that their text has been modified by the spirit of the anti-Christ. This is only one example of hundreds of subtle changes that incorporate Gnostic doctrines in the above translations and others.
