Actor James Franco claims to have fallen into a deep depression shortly after the election of President Trump.
Speaking with the Daily Beast, Franco said the election affected him "really badly" and that he has resorted to intense self-reflection to cope.
"I mean, I’ve been reacting really badly!" Franco said. "I’ve spiraled into a depression and I’ve been questioning everything that I am, and how I’ve been doing things."
Franco not only supported Hillary Clinton during the election, he campaigned in her corner when he released a parody video of the famed Dos Equis "The Most Interesting Man in the World" commercials.
"She’s the most interesting woman in the world," Franco said in the ad. Not interesting enough to get elected apparently, a fact Franco can't shake, saying that "it’s been a rough few months."
The 38-year-old actor's upcoming film I Am Michael will explore the real-life story of a gay activist who rejects his homosexuality in service of God.
The real-life person on whom it is based, Michael Glatze, still remains married to his wife this very day and has never denounced his transformation or conversion, so it's an unusual project for a Hollywood movie. Maybe all that intense self-reflection is paying off for him.
