Former Obama Staffer Reveals What Was Done With Trump Intel

While accusations of unlawful spying by former President Barack Obama’s administration have been considered groundless by the media and Democrat lawmakers, a former top Obama official recently acknowledged efforts by her colleagues to gather intelligence on President Donald Trump before he took office.
Evelyn Farkas, deputy assistant secretary of defense under Obama, told MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski in early March that the Obama administration tried to gather as much intelligence on then-President-elect Trump’s ties to Russia as possible, and to conceal the sources of that intelligence from the incoming administration.
“I was urging my former colleagues and, frankly speaking, the people on the Hill, it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, ‘get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration,’” she said.

Farkas, now serving as a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think tank, explained that she feared that any information about Trump’s relationship with Russia could “disappear with senior people who left.”
She was also reportedly worried that if Trump’s team found out how the Obama operatives knew the information and who provided the intelligence, “they would try to compromise those sources and methods.”
“I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open and I knew that there was more. We have very good intelligence on Russia,” she said. “So then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were trying to also help get information to the Hill …

“That’s why you have the leaking. People are worried.”

Here we have the deputy assistant secretary — a political appointee — who claims to have had access to information on Trump and his staff that was gathered by Obama’s intelligence community.

And, not only did she have that information, but she and countless others were apparently rushing to leak that information to politicians and the media, while simultaneously trying to conceal the “sources and methods” used to obtain the alleged intelligence.
The phrase “smoking gun” comes to mind.
