Perhaps there’s no better person to serve America in Congress than one who has offered up his life in defense of her precious freedoms.

Military veterans work well as a team, have a sense of duty, are disciplined and know how to solve problems. They’re mission-minded and hard working. And their perseverance is off the charts.

Only 18.8 percent of members of Congress have performed some form of military service, according to the Congressional Research Service. Perhaps it’s no wonder Congress’ approval rating has dipped to a shockingly low 15 percent.
