| Lily Allen in conversation Thursday 27 September 2018, 7pm–8.30pm Milton Court, London
More than a decade ago, Lily Allen’s debut single, Smile, announced her as a distinctive new voice in British pop.
Four albums and many awards later, the artist and activist remains outspoken in both her music and her politics: her latest album, No Shame, candidly discusses her role in the breakdown of her marriage, while on Twitter she confronts issues from the refugee crisis to the government’s handling of the Grenfell Tower fire.
Now, in her first book, My Thoughts Exactly, she shares insights into her life and career with trademark honesty, exploring music, feminism, mental health and motherhood in a series of incendiary essays. Join her in conversation with the Guardian’s deputy music editor, Laura Snapes. | |
