Rep. Maxine Waters went berserk on Sunday and said President Donald Trump needs to “shut up.”
During an interview on CNN, the California Democrat attacked the president, claimed he is an incompetent leader who can’t make a deal, and argued that he doesn’t understand how Congress works.
“It is hard to believe that he is prepared to seriously negotiate when he’s making his demands outside of the negotiation already,” Waters said.
“First of all, he’s talking about he’s got to have a certain amount of money. He’s also talking about how terrible it is with the rapists and the drug dealers, on and on and on,” she continued, visibly getting animated and worked up.
“That’s not how you enter a negotiation,” Waters declared. “You shut up and you shut down and you get into the negotiation and you legitimately lay your concerns on the table and people are prepared to talk about what they can and cannot do.”
Waters then argued that the partial government shutdown — which ended last Friday — was Trump’s fault that that the president “put this country in danger.”
“He doesn’t understand the role of the three branches of government,” Waters said. “He thinks he can just run over the House and the Senate, but we’re proving that he can’t do that.”

Quite remarkable to see a sitting member of Congress go on live television and tell the president of the United States to “shut up.”
But it’s not all that surprising given Waters has a long history of making controversial comments, especially about Trump and his administration.
Just last week, she demanded that Trump be impeached from office over the BuzzFeed report, which has been refuted as an absolute lie.
“I’ve talked about it for a long time, I think it’s inevitable,” Waters said, referring to impeachment.
“Everything that I have seen about this president, whether it is what I have seen with collusion or with obstruction of justice, with his lies, with so many things that he’ve (sic) done, I certainly think that he qualifies for impeachment, and if it takes (Mueller) a little bit longer, if they’re all waiting on Mueller to give them permission, okay, that’s fine, but the fact of the matter is, this president should be impeached,” she said.
Waters has been demanding Trump be impeached since the day he took office.
Last month, Waters repeatedly shouted “I told you so” during an interview on MSNBC and called for “criminal” Trump to be impeached from office.
Waters — the same woman who demanded that her supporters be “forceful” and “confrontational” with Trump officials when they are out in public — continues to prove she will say and do anything to go after the president.
