Things are not starting out good for Bernie Sanders as the cagey old socialist prepares his entry into the 2020 demolition derby that will be the Democratic party primaries.
The 77-year-old who has been instrumental in poisoning the minds of impressionable young people that socialism is the answer to all of their problems has consistently ranked as one of the Dems to be reckoned with in the race for the White House.
Even though his considerable following has a cult-like devotion to the purveyor of Karl Marx’s old snake oil in new bottles but he may already be in heap big trouble.
First off, he is an aging white man at a time when the political left is increasingly hostile to Caucasian males and the recent implosion of Venezuela’s socialist system that could erupt into all-out civil war is hardly a ringing endorsement for his policy ideas.
Even the leftist New York Times is now using the Latin American failed state as an example of how socialism is a disaster in a sign that Bernie’s revolution may be strangled in the cradle.

A video is circulating of a younger Bernie drunkenly partying in the USSR on his honeymoon, hardly the ideal wedding footage to find its way into the media in an era of hysteria when a good portion of the nation is even more Russian conspiracy crazy than the John Birch Society at the height of the Cold War.

This was well before the day when everyone with a cellphone could shoot high quality video of impromptu events and that Sanders and his blushing bride were comfortable with the entire episode being filmed – likely out of bravado – says a lot about where his true loyalties are.
Were he not such an unsympathetic character it would be easy to feel some pity for Bernie because even before the emergence of the vodka-soaked party video hit social media, there were already party activists who were promoting the idea that Sanders was another Kremlin sleeper agent.
