"The brave legislators who voted in favor of this critical bill today deserve a lot of credit. The South Dakota House of Representatives put families first and rejected this dangerous gender ideology which is destroying the lives of so many vulnerable young people." -Terry Schilling, executive director of American Principles Project

The bill, H.B. 1057, passed the Republican-controlled House 46-23 and now moves to the Senate, which also is controlled by Republicans. The state's governor, Kristi Noem, is Republican, although she has expressed concern about the bill... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

The judge made it an official order that both parents be involved in James Younger's medical decisions.
(Dallas, TX) — [LifeSiteNews.com] A Dallas judge, ruling in the case of a mother trying to turn her 7-year-old son into a "girl," upheld a previous court ruling that made both the boy's parents have joint conservatorship over him.(Image: SaveJames.com/via LifeSiteNews)
Judge Mary Brown not only denied Anne Georgulas' request that the case revert to an October jury ruling that would have likely resulted in the mother being granted sole managing conservatorship, but the judge made it an official order that both parents have joint conservatorship over their son, James Younger.
Georgulas' attorney vowed to challenge the ruling.
In a case that received national attention, a mother and a father battled over custody of their two twin boys. The father, Jeffery Younger, argued that he needed some say in the medical decision making for the boys as the mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas, had enrolled one of the 7-year-old boys in school under the name "Luna" and medical records indicated the mother was pursuing a medical gender "transition" for the boy... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

"...In fact, Davis' report indicated that "the likelihood of re-offending within five years of release exceeded 20% because victims were of both genders, and because Smith was under age 25 and never had a long-term relationship."
airlift[LifeSiteNews.com] If you were one of those inquiring souls who was wondering just how crazy the transgender phenomenon could get, the answer to that question may have just surfaced in the Des Moines Register under the headline: "Convicted of sex crimes as a man, felon no longer deemed threat because of gender change." (Image: Joseph Matthew Smith /Buena Vista County Jail /via LifeSiteNews)
Yeah, you read that right. According to the Register: "The Iowa Attorney General's Office is no longer seeking the commitment of a former Midwest Christian services student convicted of myriad sex crimes because the individual now identifies as a woman. Court records show the state dismissed the application on Jan. 9. Attorney general spokesman Lynn Hicks wouldn't comment on the reason for the dismissal other than to say 'an offender's hormone levels are an important part of substantiating an offender's likelihood of recidivism.'"
To provide a bit of context here, Joseph Matthew Smith is a 23-year-old who was convicted of molesting a fellow student back in 2014, but according to state's expert Dr. Jeffrey Davis, Smith has molested as many as 15 children—ranging from ages one to 13. In fact, Davis' report indicated that "the likelihood of re-offending within five years of release exceeded 20% because victims were of both genders, and because Smith was under age 25 and never had a long-term relationship"... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

"Americans should know this is a potentially very serious public health threat..." -Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar
[CBN News] US health officials are reporting the first case of person-to-person spread of the new coronavirus from China. The news comes as the World Health Organization on Thursday declared the virus a public health emergency. (Image: via CBN News)
The latest US victim is married to a Chicago woman who got sick from the virus after she returned from a trip to Wuhan, China, which is ground zero for the outbreak. This brings the number of confirmed cases in the United States to six.
That's barely a fraction of the 8,000 cases worldwide. All but 120 of those cases are in China, as have been all coronavirus-related deaths.
The fast-moving virus is prompting governments worldwide to take decisive measures out of an abundance of caution. For example, 6,000 passengers were held on a cruise ship off Italy Thursday while doctors checked two Hong Kong tourists who were running a fever.
In addition, several countries are racing to help citizens escape the contagion by flying them out of China, especially those in Wuhan, the disease epicenter.
A chartered flight with some 200 Americans touched down at a California military base on Wednesday. Patrick Stockstill and his family were among passengers in face masks and officials in hazmat suits.
"When we first stepped on board, my jaw dropped," Stockstill said. "I've never seen a plane set up like that before. Cargo plane with passenger seats. Honestly, it felt like something out of a movie."
But it's all too real. Those passengers will remain quarantined for three days, longer if they show any symptoms.
Efforts to keep the outbreak in check have grown to screening checkpoints at 20 airports across the country.
"Americans should know this is a potentially very serious public health threat, but at this point, Americans should not worry about their own safety," said Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar.
Airlines around the world have announced the complete suspension of flights to China until further notice. The White House has reportedly considered banning all flights from the US to China but hasn't taken that step yet. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

"Faces of Choice provided every answer and documentation the legal team requested, and though the network has every right to decide which advertisers to accept, stringing along an eager advertiser who met every demand is professionally shady." -Lyric Gillett, director of Faces of Choice
[CBN News] After Fox Sports declined to air a pro-life advocacy group's television commercial during the Super Bowl this Sunday, Dr. James Dobson, the founder and president of the James Dobson Family Institute, asked the network, "Why are you saying 'yes' to drag queens and 'no' to abortion survivors?" (Image: Dr. James Dobson /via CBN News)
As CBN News reported, Lyric Gillett, director of Faces of Choice and producer of the ad, claimed earlier this week that Fox is essentially censoring their commercial after stringing her group along since last July.
According to the Washington TimesFox said they did not accept the commercial because their ad spaces sold out early. Yet just six days ago, the network announced it had additional ad slots available, according to Variety.
"Fox's response would have been acceptable in November but we have been working with their legal team since July, so executives claiming ad space was not available is intentionally deceptive. And it's such an uninventive excuse to say they ran out of space, which is easily disprovable," Gillet said in a statement. "Faces of Choice provided every answer and documentation the legal team requested, and though the network has every right to decide which advertisers to accept, stringing along an eager advertiser who met every demand is professionally shady."
"The ad features several people who survived abortions, a part of the population whose voices are rarely heard, so what bigger stage to allow them to speak than on a Super Bowl commercial?" Gillet continued. "In an era where voices that have previously been silenced are allowed to be heard, this particular rejection by Fox Sports seems like a more calculated decision to deem abortion survivors worthy of being ignored."
She also announced her group has already started discussions with CBS for airing a commercial in the network's presentation of the Super Bowl in 2021.

Dr. Dobson, the founder of Focus on the Family, weighed in on the issue, warning families they might want to have their remote control ready. A commercial for Sabra hummus will feature a pair of drag queens from RuPaul's Drag Race.
"This year, families may want to rethink their plans, or at least keep the remote close at hand. I've learned that on Sunday, Fox plans to broadcast a commercial featuring drag queens. I hope I don't need to explain to parents why their young children might be troubled or confused at the sight of men dressed up as women," he said in a statement.
"It amazes me that Fox would choose to transform the Super Bowl from a family-friendly event into an opportunity to promote a gender ideology that goes against the most basic biological realities, as well as the sincerely held religious beliefs of millions of Americans. To say I'm disappointed would be a huge understatement," Dobson added.
"What's worse, news reports suggest that Fox has refused to approve a pro-life commercial produced by Faces of Choice for Super Bowl Sunday, one in which abortion survivors tell the world that they are precious human beings who deserve a chance to participate in the ultimate contest—life," he continued. "So there you have it. Fox has said 'yes' to drag queens and 'no' to abortion survivors. Celebrating sexual fantasy while denying the value of every life... could the soul of America be any more lost?"
"I urge you to make your voices heard. Contact Fox and demand that they prioritize family entertainment and the value of life over harmful gender ideology and sexual fantasy. Also, please consider signing the My Faith Votes petition in support of Faces of Choice," Dobson noted.
"There is such a thing as truth. Let's stand for it," he concluded.
The last time a commercial with a pro-life message aired in the Super Bowl was ten years ago. The commercial featured then-college quarterback Tim Tebow, whose mother rejected a doctor's advice to have an abortion after she contracted amoebic dysentery. The ad sponsored by Focus on the Family did not include the words "abortion or pro-life" in it. However, CBS received furious responses from pro-choice groups over its decision to air the commercial. Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here

Shawn Brown (Jan 31, 2020)
"...Doing what I do every single day, and then knowing that as long I'm doing everything the right way, the way that He'd want me to do it, then I can walk off the field with my head held high and be able to be the man that I'm supposed to be. It's given me a lot of blessing in my life and I'm trying to maximize and glorify Him in everything I do." -Kansas City Quarterback Patrick Mahomes
(Miami, FL) — [CBN News] Football history is on the line this Sunday night in Super Bowl LIV. The San Francisco 49ers are gunning for a record-tying sixth Super Bowl win, and the Kansas City Chiefs are hunting for their first in 50 years. More than 100 million people are expected to tune in to the big game, but members from both teams are playing for an audience of one. (Image: via CBN News)
The Chiefs and 49ers have been phenomenal this season, now they're preparing to battle it out on the biggest stage in football. The week leading up to the big game is filled with press conferences, meeting, and of course they have to find time to practice, all while the sports world mourns the loss of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. But players from both teams say they are leaning on their faith to help them keep everything in perspective.
"You know, when we were flying from San Francisco and landed here in Miami, I went on social media and that's the first thing that popped up, was his passing. And it was just so devastating not only to myself but everyone. He was truly a legend," said 49ers running back Raheem Mostert.
"He actually spoke to my team when I was in Philly. And I have a lot of respect for him. Learned a lot from him. He actually taught us a lot about how to play in the playoffs and I'm still applying some of that stuff here. It's scary and sad, and humbling to remember that we never know how long we have in this life so we'd better make it count," said Chiefs Guard Stefen Wisniewski.
A big part of living a life of purpose is using this platform to share about the joy of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. For Kansas City Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, one of the most electrifying players in the league, he says, his faith in God is the source of his success.
"I think it's allowed me to be who I am. Being comfortable with who I am and showing my personality. Doing what I do every single day, and then knowing that as long I'm doing everything the right way, the way that He'd want me to do it, then I can walk off the field with my head held high and be able to be the man that I'm supposed to be. It's given me a lot of blessing in my life and I'm trying to maximize and glorify Him in everything I do," said Mahomes.
"It keeps you humble. And for us to be able to show our faith in what we do. We did a Bible study and (had) different conversations this year. We're here because He wants us here, at this moment right now," said Kansas City Fullback Anthony Sherman.
Wisniewski has been here before. But when he was cut by the Eagles in late August, he says, he placed his career in God's hands...and He showed up big. Now he's in his 2nd Super Bowl.
"The best place you can be in life is the center of God's will. And the center of God's will for my life was unemployed for 5 weeks. And it was a challenge and He was with me and I leaned on Him during that time and I trusted Him, praised Him. I knew that if He wanted to, He could exalt me again and it was just my job to humble myself before Him, and here I am about to start in the Super Bowl. That's all because of God," Wisniewski said.
"My faith in Christ is something that's unwavering. Special teams can come and go and eventually I'm not going to play in Kansas City or in the league. But I'll always be a fan. My faith in Christ is going to take me all the way to the other side of eternity," said Chiefs Punter Dustin Colquitt.
49ers running back Raheem Mostert ran all over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game posting 220 yards and 4 touchdowns. Well, just like his path to the end zone, he says his faith in God helps him weather the bumps and blows of life.
"So I've got a Bible verse on my chest, Psalm 23:4-6, 'Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. For God is with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.' And that right there in and itself explains my life. Everything that I done went through. I done been through the darkness. And I've been able to come out with the light," said Mostert.
"God is the greatest. I tell my wife that all the time that God is the greatest. I tell everybody that God is the greatest. There's no one higher or above Him. You know I'm blessed. I literally, I come from a small country town of Bellville, TX... probably got one stoplight, you know. And I know I didn't do it by myself. I know the Good Lord above, He's definitely blessed me," said 49ers Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders.
"I think it just gives you a realization of what's important in life. Although this game is really important to me, it's not what's actually important, it's those relationships in life, those relationships with God that are actually important. And if you just focus on that it allows you to play your game, play fast, and play strong, and know that you're not working for man but for something greater. You're working for Him," said 49ers Offensive Lineman Ben Garland.
As the world mourns the loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and the other lives lost in that helicopter crash, both teams continue to prepare for Sunday. Veteran 49ers Wide Receiver Jordan Matthews is reminded of what matters most in this world... a life of love through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
"It's the only thing that I feel like keeps me steady because I know that that's the only thing that's ever gonna matter once it's all over. The verse of the day was actually, 'What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul?' So you can collect everything you want in life, but at the end of the day, when life's over, it's gonna go to somebody that's not even you. And so what are you doing with this time? It should be about building other people up. It should be about spending that alone time with God and really growing in your faith because I feel like that's what's gonna matter," Matthews said.
"I feel like me and God have this relationship going on right now that's gonna last till eternity. We already kicking it, so I can't wait till that day I get to see Him in person. It's one of those things that makes playing football that much more fun. It really does take the pressure off everything that I'm doing in my career because I know I already have the victory. Somebody's already told me that I'm great, that I'm beautifully and wonderfully made." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
