John Rich has once again shown his support for former President Donald Trump.

The conservative country singer is an outspoken Trump supporter on X, formerly Twitter, where he also shares his opinions on a range of subjects from COVID vaccines to social issues. He took to X over the weekend to reference presidential election polls in New York ahead of the 2024 race for the White House.

“Trump is within single digits of catching Sniffy in the polls in New York, and tonight he’s having a rally in the South Bronx. Does that sound like someone who’s losing to you? #TickTockGoesTheClock,” wrote Rich.

The term “Sniffy” is Rich referencing President Joe Biden and accusations in the past over “sniffing” incidents. He was accused in 2020 by former Nevada state Assemblywoman Lucy Flores of smelling her hair and kissing the back of her head.

In April, Biden went viral for seemingly sniffing a baby he met at the White House’s annual Easter Egg Roll.

Rich’s tweet also refers to Trump gaining ground on Biden in New York. A new poll showed Biden leading Trump by 47 percent to 38 percent in the state. The Siena College poll, taken on May 13-15 with 1,191 registered voters, showed Biden is down 20 points in New York City and that Trump has gained seven points compared to the 2020 numbers.

Biden won the state by 23 points four years ago.

Trump held a rally in the New York City borough of the Bronx on Thursday in an attempt to court Black and Hispanic voters. The rally drew a large crowd, with an estimated 25,000 people coming to see him at Crotona Park, which exceeded the 3,500 initially expected to attend, according to Fox News.

Country singer Rich has long supported Trump and been a fierce critic of Biden.

In March, he took aim at Biden over his State of the Union (SOTU) address, accusing the president of being “angry” during his speech to a joint sitting of Congress on March 7—which was described to Newsweek as a “hell of a speech” by Heath Brown, associate professor of public policy at the City University of New York.

“He was a bulldog in this SOTU. He was combative, funny, and aggressive. It also was the most pro-union speech I’ve ever heard from a U.S. president,” Brown said at the time.

But Rich was less than impressed and argued the president’s display of passionmade it harder for Democrats to “25th Amendment him from office.” The 25th Amendment of the U.S. constitution refers to “presidential vacancy,” and the way a president could be removed from office.

“Due to Joe’s angry, screaming state of the union speech, the Dems are now forced to say he’s ‘Still got it’ thus, making it 1,000 times harder to 25th Amendment him from office,” Rich wrote on X in March.

“They are being forced to wear him around their necks like a ball and chain all the way to the end, and they know he can’t win. Had he fallen apart during that speech, they would have had a much easier route to replace him. A classic catch 22.”
