DOGE Report: $1.3 Million In Taxpayer Aid Went To Illegals With Records

DOGE has discovered that illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds or terrorism connections received public benefits under the Biden administration. The alarming findings highlight how thousands of individuals on FBI watchlists or with criminal records were admitted into the United States through inadequate Border Patrol screening procedures. What was the total financial impact of these improper benefit distributions?

Security Failures at the Border

The Department of Government Efficiency has uncovered a troubling pattern of security lapses at the border during the Biden administration. According to DOGE’s report, “it was routine for Border Patrol to admit aliens into the United States with no legal status and minimal screening.”

Of particular concern is the identification of approximately 6,300 individuals who were paroled into the United States since 2023 despite being on the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center watchlist or having criminal records. These paroles have since been terminated with immediate effect, but the damage had already been done.

Public Benefits Improperly Distributed

Despite their questionable legal status, these paroled individuals were able to access numerous government benefit programs. The DOGE report stated, “Despite having no other legal status, paroled aliens are able to file for work authorization and receive social security numbers.”

The financial impact of these improper distributions is substantial and continues to grow. Of the 6,300 identified illegal immigrants, 905 were collecting Medicaid benefits, including 4 individuals on the terrorist watch list, resulting in approximately $276,000 in payments.

Widespread Financial Impact

The report detailed additional benefits that were improperly distributed to individuals who should never have been admitted. Investigators found that 41 individuals collected Unemployment Insurance, receiving a total of $42,000 in benefits.

Another 22 recipients received federal student loans totaling $280,000, while 409 received net tax refunds in 2024 amounting to $751,000. Several individuals also received SNAP (food stamp) benefits, though the final number and total value are still being determined.

These revelations come amid ongoing debates about immigration policy and border security. With the total improper distributions exceeding $1.3 million and counting, taxpayers are left to foot the bill for these security and screening failures.

The DOGE report emphasizes the need for more thorough screening procedures and stricter oversight of benefit distribution systems. While the identified paroles have been terminated, the challenge of recovering already distributed funds remains a significant hurdle for government officials.
