The Theology of Remembrance
The Psalmist wrote, "If I forget you, O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget her skill" (Psalm 137:5). But biblical remembrance is not passive nostalgia—it is active love. Isaiah 40:1 commands: "'Comfort, o comfort My people,' says your God."
Romans 11 reminds us of God's plan for Israel and in Psalm 122:6 we read of our mandate to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. When God's chosen people suffer, we suffer. When God's people are attacked, we must defend.
Your Response Starts Now
The heroes we've met—Aner Shapira, young soldiers, self-sacrificing grandmothers and grandfathers—did not set out to be heroes. They chose love over fear. You can make that choice today.
