Palestinians: The "Ugly Crime" of a School Curriculum

by Bassam Tawil  •  March 1, 2018 at 5:00 am
  • A recent study of Palestinian textbooks found that Palestinian children are being taught to glorify and value terrorism and violence. The Palestinian Authority and its Minister of Education, Sabri Saidam, want Arab schools in Jerusalem to teach the students why Muslims should be killing Jews.
  • "Within the pages of the textbooks, children are being taught to be expendable. Messages such as: 'The Volcano of My Revenge'; 'The Longing of my Blood for my Land'; and 'I Shall Sacrifice My Blood to Saturate the Land' suffuse the [Palestinian] curriculum. Math books use numbers of dead martyrs to teach arithmetic. The vision of an Arab Palestine includes the entirety of what is now Israel, defined as the '1948 Occupied Territories.'" — IMPACT-se.
  • How come the Arab citizens of Israel have never complained about the Israeli educational system? The answer is because they evidently like the education that Israel has been offering them. It teaches them to value life, freedom of speech and democracy, and Arab Israelis admire it. They love the education Israel offers them because it does not demonize any race or group of people. They love it because it does not teach them to kill Jews, but to live with them in peace and security. This is the truth that the Palestinian Authority does not want to hear. This is the truth that it does not want the rest of the world to hear.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Education, Sabri Saidam, is worried these days. He is not worried, he says, because Palestinian schoolchildren are being taught to hate Israel. He is not worried because Palestinian schoolchildren are being goaded by their leaders to carry out terror attacks against Jews, from stone-throwing to stabbings to ramming cars.
The PA minister of Education is worried, he says, about a "crime" that is about to be committed against Arab children in Jerusalem schools. The "crime," in his view, is that the children will be taught according to an Israeli, and not a Palestinian, curriculum.
Saidam sees the decision to apply the Israeli curriculum to Arab schools in Jerusalem as an "ugly crime of counterfeit." These are the exact words he used to denounce the decision to introduce the Israeli curriculum into Arab schools.

Iran and Hezbollah's Terror in Argentina

by Lawrence A. Franklin  •  March 1, 2018 at 4:00 am
  • If efforts to expose Iran's and Hezbollah's roles in the Argentinean bombings are successful, the information will elucidate for regional leaders the dark side of Iran's ties to sub-state terrorist groups to increase even further its influence in Latin America.
  • For decades, Iran has seemingly been employing both normative diplomatic ties and criminal links to export its Islamic revolution to the Western Hemisphere. By using similar methods of subversion, Iran appears already to have penetrated other Latin American nations, including Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Brazil and some island countries in the Caribbean.
Thousands of Argentinians protest on February 18, 2015 in Buenos Aires, with signs demanding "Truth and Justice," on the one-month anniversary of the murder of special prosecutor Alberto Nisman. Nisman was murdered by unknown assailants one day before he was officially to present allegations of treason against then-President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)
Iran's activities in Latin America are a direct challenge to U.S. primacy in the Western Hemisphere. Iran, it seems, wants to replace the U.S. as the power ally of Latin American countries.
While Iran's nuclear, ballistic missile, and expansionist policies in the Middle East are well known, most of the Islamic Republic's operations in Latin America appear to have been proceeding underway, below the radar, for several decades.

New York Times: U.N. examines 206 companies...stoking fears of boycotts against companies doing business with Israel.

To view this email as a web page, go here.
Carl,

The New York Times recently reported that the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is investigating hundreds of companies that are doing business with Israel. Now the U.N. says it plans to name them, and create a “blacklist” of American companies that could be targeted by foreign boycotts.

Israel has long been targeted by the pernicious Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Together, we must continue the fight to protect Israel from economic warfare and American companies legally doing business with the Jewish state.

We need 3,000 supporters to help urge Congress to pass the Israel Anti-Boycott Act to combat the BDS movement against Israel and protect American businesses.

Take action now. We need 3,000 pro-Israel supporters to take action before midnight!

The United Nations and other international governmental organizations have long singled out Israel with unfair criticism and have led efforts to isolate the Jewish state politically and economically.

The Israel Anti-Boycott Act would specifically expand existing U.S. anti-boycott laws to include international governmental organizations like the U.N. and the European Union.

Without this law, and with the latest attempts from the U.N. to blacklist American companies doing business with Israel, we could see a major surge in BDS actions against Israel.

We cannot afford to let that happen. That’s why we need your voice to send a strong message to Congress to pass the Israel Anti-Boycott Act now.

Kushner’s future is uncertain — but few think he’s leaving White House

Kushner’s future is uncertain — but few think he’s leaving White House
President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is facing an uncertain future at the White House.
Kushner has endured a brutal stretch, punctuated by a reduction in his national security clearance.
That controversy has renewed scrutiny on his business dealings: A bombshell Washington Post story on Tuesday raised questions about whether he is susceptible to blackmail or manipulation by foreign governments.
Kushner has also watched as some of his own allies have hit the exits.

Spokesman Josh Raffel – known for his aggressive dealings with the media in shaping stories about Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump – has announced his departure. Reed Cordish – a longtime family friend working with Kushner on a government IT overhaul – is also leaving soon.
And on Wednesday, the White House was shaken by the resignation of communications director Hope Hicks, who has been with President Trump since the beginning of his campaign. She has also been seen as an ally of Kushner and Ivanka Trump.
The Russia investigation continues to hang over the White House and Kushner.
Those developments have sparked discussion among Republicans close to the White House about whether Kushner might be looking for an opportunity to make a graceful exit.
Several of the administration’s allies say that Trump’s 2020 campaign – which switched into action this week under the leadership of digital guru Brad Parscale, who is close with Kushner – might be the ideal landing spot.
They say it would give him room to operate outside the harsh White House spotlight.
“The White House needs to be asking itself, why is he really here?” said one outside adviser to the administration. “If his function is to negotiate Middle East peach, then not having security clearance will make that difficult to achieve. It’s probably best for him to look for a chance to go out on a high note. He’s become a distraction and joining the campaign would allow him to operate more freely.”
The campaign is already shaping up to be a family affair, with Lara Trump, the wife of Trump’s son Eric Trump, assuming a senior adviser role.
The Trump campaign and a half-dozen administration officials did not respond to requests for comment, although some White House allies privately said they don’t believe Kushner is going anywhere.
The White House has circled-the-wagons around Kushner in recent days, describing him as an invaluable contributor and insisting that he’s on board for the long haul.
Chief of staff John Kelly, who made the call on the security clearance reduction, said in a statement that Kushner’s expansive portfolio of foreign policy work would not be impacted, although some legal experts disagree.
“As I told Jared days ago, I have full confidence in his ability to continue performing his duties in his foreign policy portfolio including overseeing our Israeli-Palestinian peace effort and serving as an integral part of our relationship with Mexico,” Kelly said in a statement. “Everyone in the White House is grateful for these valuable contributions to furthering the president’s agenda. There is no truth to any suggestion otherwise.”
Some Trump’s allies, including a few who have long been critical of Kushner, argue the president’s son-in-law has been treated unfairly by the media and his political enemies.
Several fumed over the Washington Post story, which cited anonymous current and former government officials alleging that foreign leaders were looking for ways to use Kushner’s business deals to manipulate U.S. policy.
“That’s nonsense,” said one GOP operative with close ties to the White House who is generally critical of Kushner. “The governments for 100 other countries have tried to figure out how to manipulate every staffer from every previous administration and we do the same thing to them. Hey look – the sun is rising in the East. Jared isn’t susceptible to this, give me a break.”
Still, even Trump allies are generally baffled by Kushner’s continued presence at the White House, saying the controversies swirling around him are not serving him, the president or the administration.
Several said the flap over security clearances show that Kushner is in over his head, suggesting he only got his job because of his family connections.
Several pinned some of Trump’s worst decisions on Kushner, including the decisions to hire former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and fire former FBI director James Comey — both of which have created political and legal headaches for the president.
They wonder whether Kushner’s ego or Trump’s blind loyalty explain his continued presence.
“Look, he’s in the White House because he’s the president’s son-in-law,” said one GOP operative. “Nepotism is never a good thing. It’s time for him to go because he’s just complicating the dynamics in the West Wing and creating a massive distraction.”
Kelly made the call on Kushner’s security clearance, leading to a fresh round of leaks and bitter backbiting within an administration that had seen less palace intrigue since the exit of strategist Steve Bannon — a Kushner foe.
Kelly’s own status had been in question after his handling of a controversy over a senior aide whose ex-wives accused him of abuse.
But Republicans say Kelly handled the Kushner security clearance matter expertly and may have shielded himself in the process.
One Republican noted that if Kelly is fired now, it will look like it’s because he crossed the president’s son-in-law. And even if Kelly were fired, the White House would still have to reverse what Kelly had done to reinstate Kushner’s standing. They’d likely get killed in the press for that.
“It was political genius by Kelly,” said one Republican.
Still, the decision over whether Kushner stays or goes is ultimately up to him and Trump, even if his power has been diminished and his West Wing allies have dwindled.
So far, there is no indication that Kushner is preparing to leave — even as pressure among Trump’s allies ramps up.
“There are clearly high costs to keeping him around the White House at this point, and the negative publicity seems to outweigh the benefits of keeping him around,” the outside adviser said.

UK Muslim Radio Fined for Airing ‘Hate Speech’ Against Non-Muslims

“Violent acts committed against non-Muslim people would bring honor to Islam.”

A local Muslim radio station has been penalized for airing ‘hate speech,’ the UK media report. British media regulator Ofcom slapped Nottingham-based Radio Dawn with a £2,000 fine for “glorifying” the violent history of Islam and claiming that “similar violent acts committed against non-Muslim people would bring honor to Islam.”
The radio station is not alone in making such pronouncements; Islamist hate preachers have long been preaching a similar message in the UK and across the Western world. The religious sanction for acts of terrorism, beheadings and sexual slavery are often derived from the biography of Muhammad, whom the Islamic tradition regards as the perfect example of how a man should act.
The acts of violence carried out in the seventh century by the prophet of Islam and his immediate followers, or Ansars, are still used by Islamic State, al-Qaeda and other jihadi terror groups as the primary source of inspiration and justification for carrying out atrocities against non-Muslims and apostates.
The UK newspaper Nottingham Post reported the proceedings against the radio station on Wednesday:
A radio station broadcasting to Nottingham's Muslim community has been fined £2,000 after a talk played on the radio was found to constitute 'hate speech'.
Watchdog Ofcom today (February 27) ruled a nasheed - a chant or speech often set to music which are popular in the Islamic world - broadcast by Radio Dawn breached its code on hate speech.
A decision published on Ofcom's website said the 17-minute nasheed, which was broadcast on December 26, 2016, began by "glorifying the victories on the battlefield of figures from Islamic history".
It said the broadcast also went on to "suggest that similar violent acts committed against non-Muslim people would bring honour to Islam".
The notice said: "Further, the Nasheed included a number of pejorative references to non-Muslim people.
"In particular, non-Muslim people were repeatedly referred to as “Kufaar” (the Arabic word for disbeliever) and on one occasion, “Kaafir I Murdaar” (meaning filthy disbeliever in Urdu)."
In December 2017, Muslim demonstrators—protesting the US move to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital—cried “Death to Jews” and “Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is coming again” in Arabic, alluding to the extermination of the entire Jewish population of Khaybar, in today’s Saudi Arabia, at the hands of Muhammad and his conquering army (see video above). That angry demonstration took place at Berlin’s historic Brandenburg Gates, a stone’s throw away from Germany’s Holocaust Memorial. It is safe to assume that the demonstrators were aware of the historic context of their genocidal slogans and the significance of the place.
As far as the current situation in the UK is concerned, a slap on the wrist of a single Muslim radio station won’t make much of a difference. British Intelligence agencies have identified 35,000 Islamists residing in the country. With jihadi indoctrination continuing unabated in mosques, madrasas and communities across the UK, their numbers are expected to rise.
