TRANSCRIPT

Church Militant (a 501(c)4 corporation) is responsible for the content of this commentary.

Every Democratic leader in the country should be immediately arrested and imprisoned for the nightmare they put America through these past six months over the Wuhan virus. Very quietly (with no fanfare, no press releases, no long interviews on any major media outlets), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated their charts on their homepage.

And pay close attention to the timing of this update by the CDC, which will become clear in a moment. About 10 days ago, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it was going to be investigating governors that forced Wuhan patients into nursing homes.

That would include Gov. Cuomo in New York and Gov. Whitmer here in Michigan. Thousands and thousands of patients were officially recorded as having died from the disease in those homes. And then — lo and behold — the CDC very quietly, just a couple days after the DOJ announcement, updated its COVID death numbers to greatly reduce those who died solely from COVID.

What they updated it to is the truth at last. The truth that reveals this entire Wuhan debacle was another planned effort to get Trump. Look at this (again, right on the CDC website for the whole world to see): Of the roughly 170,000 deaths in the United States from the China virus, only 6%, about 1 in 20, were strictly from the virus.

The other 19 out of 20 occurred if and when some other disease was already present; in fact, there was often more than one disease. On average, 2.6 other serious ailments were present besides the Wuhan virus that brought about death, according to the CDC.

People died who had severe respiratory illnesses or liver failure or severe cases of diabetes, renal failure and so forth. The CDC provides a pretty comprehensive list, in fact, of all the other health issues that needed to be present on top of Wuhan to die from it.

But the question is, if someone already had severe diabetes and renal failure and respiratory illness, and then they caught Wuhan, is it accurate to say they died from Wuhan?

What we do know is that no sooner had the Wuhan appeared than the entire Left saw and seized an opportunity for their own political gain.Tweet

So what's really going on here? We all know. These Marxist monsters were not only willing — but actually complicit — in destroying the greatest economy in the history of the world just to make sure Trump did not get reelected.

"Russia, Russia!" didn't work. Ukraine didn't work. Impeachment didn't work. His personal taxes didn't work. Stormy Daniels didn't work. Nothing worked against Donald "Make America Great Again" Trump. Nothing. Ah, but if the Marxists could develop a way to destroy the economy, that would be their ticket.

Then they could not only destroy the lives and livelihoods of tens of millions of Americans and run up the national debt by trillions more — but, but, but — they could then say it's really all Trump's fault because he didn't prepare correctly.

There's no way to know (big picture now), at least right now, if the Marxist Democrats actually conspired with the Marxist Chinese in the development and release of the virus in the first place. But given their level of evil (remember, they kill children by the tens of millions), why not?

Why couldn't this be some gigantic masterplan cooked up by the Marxists in Washington, D.C. and the Marxists in Beijing? Heck, given the coziness of the Beijing Marxists and the D.C. swamp Marxists with the Vatican, you can't dismiss the possibility that the evil homopredator McCarrick doesn't have his finger in all this.

Remember, Church Militant was the first to uncover last year that McCarrick was communist-trained at an indoctrination center in St. Gallen, Switzerland; he was a man who had secret offshore accounts, according to our sources, funded by the Kremlin.

Let's face it, to bring about global domination would require a global effort. World domination, the stated goal of Marxism, doesn't just happen all by itself. But since we can't know any of that definitively, at least not yet, let's lay it aside.

What we do know is that no sooner had the Wuhan appeared than the entire Left saw and seized an opportunity for their own political gain. They brought the economy to a standstill. They locked down the country, state by state. And their Marxist media allies trumpeted the narrative.

Stay home. Don't breathe. Never come outside again. Give people "free" money for the next year. Shut down the schools. Close up everything. Leave no stone unturned. The virus must be eradicated from every cellar, every chimney, every mailbox in America.

No one is safe: People will die by the millions. Tens of millions. There was and still is no end of the hysteria. Every day, the COVID News Network, CNN, is right there with what amounts to a fake body count (rather, actually is a fake body count because no distinction is made between those who died from the virus and those who died from a combination of many things).

Ninety-four percent of people listed as dying from Wuhan actually died from Wuhan and three other diseases acting in combination with each other. To skip over that inconvenient fact should result in complicit media being arrested and put on trial and then imprisoned for the rest of their natural-born days.

They abused their power, their "journalistic" freedom so wickedly that they brought about enormous suffering — and even death — to untold numbers of Americans. They caused suicides, mental illnesses, drug and alcohol addiction and people's failure to seek medical help for fear of being near a hospital.

And all along, the Democrats and their media pals lied to you, deceived you, drove you to near panic — all for the sole purpose of getting Trump. They drummed up and manufactured a "scamdemic" and made you pay the cost. None of them were touched by the consequences of their own evil — just tens of millions of others.

Let this sink in: Only 6% actually died directly from Wuhan. Six percent. That's approximately 10,000 people. Tragic, of course, but a small number (relatively speaking). The other 160,000 died from a combination of multiple diseases; Wuhan was just one in the mix.

You've been lied to by the Democrats and the media. Many of your lives have been destroyed, your businesses wiped out, your families left under crushing economic conditions. There is no end to the evil the Democrats will inflict on anyone to accomplish their goal.

They would gun you down in the streets if they thought it would help, and that is precisely what they will do if they win in November. This party, at least the leadership, is not composed of Americans. They are straight-up communists who want America destroyed.

And, for the Catholics listening to this, remember: Many of the U.S. hierarchy (the bishops and their staffs) are dyed-in-the-wool Democrats. They have no supernatural faith. They don't believe. They protect homopredator clergy. They lie to you, take your money, give no care whatsoever about the eternal destiny of you or your family.

The election is two months away. Remember all of this. Remember in November.Tweet

They are straight-up Marxists who disguise themselves as social justice warriors supposedly caring for the poor. They are in league with Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and all the rest of them. That's why they never condemn them, never speak a word against them, give them the Sacred Body and Blood of Our Lord — adding sacrilege to their list of crimes.

This is a giant ideological conspiracy — if not an actual one. It is a Marxist effort to defeat Trump at all costs, even faking a pandemic. The 10,000 Americans who've died directly from Wuhan doesn't even crack the top 10 on the list of causes of death each year in America.

According to the CDC, the top 10 causes of death in America are as follows:

  • Heart disease: 647,457
  • Cancer: 599,108
  • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 169,936
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 160,201
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 146,383
  • Alzheimer's disease: 121,404
  • Diabetes: 83,564
  • Influenza and pneumonia: 55,672
  • Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis: 50,633
  • Intentional self-harm (suicide): 47,173

Five times the number of people died from committing suicide than those who died directly from Wuhan. America, you've been had; brother, have you been had! In the calculation of the Marxists, including those in the Church, America is the last obstacle on the world stage to global domination. And Trump is the central figure espousing American greatness.

He has to go so America can be taken off the board and the era of godless Marxism can begin. The Democrats are in on this. The media is in on this. The Obama holdovers in the deep state are in on this. Black Lives Matter is in on this. Antifa is in on this. Too many bishops and clergy are in on this.

And they are all Marxists. Wake up, America, wake up. And for you duped Catholics who have allowed yourselves to be taken in by these crooked men in miters in league with all this, denied Mass and the sacraments and the normal spiritual life, you need to rise up and rise up now.

The election is two months away. Remember all of this. Remember in November.

DENVER (ChurchMilitant.com) - As election day draws closer, an American archbishop is stressing the need to protect the unborn.

Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver posted a meme on Twitter Friday contrasting the nun who spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) with the nun who spoke at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

Speaks for itself! Lord, help us embrace the Gospel of Life! pic.twitter.com/SjkwdbcWxL

— Archbishop Aquila (@ArchbishopDen) August 28, 2020

Sister Simone Campbell led a prayer invocation Aug. 20 for the DNC. She spoke of fighting to end "structural racism, bigotry and sexism" in the United States.

Before her appearance at the DNC, Sr. Campbell was asked about the issue of abortion. She refused to speak out for the unborn, remarking, "It is above my pay grade."

In contrast, Sr. Deirdre Byrne (name misspelled in the meme) said ending abortion is a central issue for people of faith.

"While we tend to think of the marginalized as living beyond our borders," she told the RNC on Wednesday, "the truth is, the largest marginalized group in the world can be found here in the United States; they are the unborn."

Sister Byrne went on to say, "As followers of Christ, we are called to stand up for life against the politically correct or fashionable of today."

The meme contrasts Sr. Byrne's pro-life testimony with Sr. Campbell's refusal to stand up for the unborn.

It also contrasts Sr. Byrne's work as a surgeon and missionary with Sr. Campbell's work as a "lobbyist."

"A tale of two nuns," the meme reads. "One follows Church teaching, one does not."

Archbishop Aquila said the meme "speaks for itself," adding, "Lord, help us embrace the Gospel of Life!"

The Denver archbishop again wrote about the meme in a follow-up Tweet, saying, "This is about Catholic teaching, the seriousness of abortion, and never to be dismissive or flippant with so serious a matter. Catholic public persons and every Catholic has the responsibility to be faithful to the Gospel of Life."

Archbishop Aquila has spoken out strongly on the right to life in the past.

In 2016, he wrote in a voting guide for his flock, "Catholics in good conscience cannot support candidates who will advance abortion."

Sister Byrne said during her RNC speech, "While what I have to say may be difficult for some to hear, I am saying it because I'm not just pro-life, I'm pro-eternal life — and I want all of us to end up in Heaven together someday."

She highlighted the Rosary as a "weapon of choice" for pro-lifers.

I want to see her speech sent to every single bishop in America.Tweet

Sister Byrne's religious order is the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

Her speech at the RNC prompted a strong, positive response from conservatives, faithful Catholics and pro-life leaders, with video of the speech and quotes from it circulating widely on social media.

Bryan Kemper, a pro-life speaker and Youth Outreach Director for Priests for Life, tweeted Thursday, "Everyone needs to watch this video of Sister Deirdre Byrne."

He dubbed the nun's remarks the "best speech of the night."

Kemper said in another Tweet, "I want to see her speech sent to every single bishop in America."

A Thursday piece for the American Conservative stressed the contrast between Sr. Byrne's speech at the RNC and Sr. Campbell's invocation at the DNC.

In that article, Collegiate Network Fellow Declan Leary said of Sr. Byrne, "A nun in a habit is not consumed by the political party whose convention she attends — does not, in the familiar phrase, render herself unto Caesar."

But according to Leary, the fact that Sr. Campbell lacked a nun's habit meant she did not seem above the political fray the way Sr. Byrne did.

"A nun in a cardigan, meanwhile, suggests a religious contingent that can't bring anything to the table but votes," Leary opined.

HAVANA (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Foundation for Panamerican Democracy, a nonprofit charitable organization that distributes aid in Cuba, has joined human rights icon Rosa María Payá and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez in calling on the communist government of Cuba to release humanitarian aid that churches in the United States have sent to churches on the island.

In addition, the nonprofit has sent a letter to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives to support the release of the aid, which comes during a humanitarian crisis in Cuba. The letter is signed by more than 30 churches, civic organizations and activists based in Cuba and the United States.

The letter said that the Solidarity between Brothers program collected thousands of pounds of shelf-stable foodfeminine hygiene, soap and other necessities that were intended for distribution among some 15,000 Cuban families that had managed to register for assistance on the charity's website, despite interference by the communist government.

"This assistance has been arbitrarily detained by Cuban authorities upon its arrival on the island," the letter read.

"Cuba is in crisis. The one-party communist regime that exercises centralized control over all aspects of Cuban society has caused a grave humanitarian crisis, while increasing political repression," the letter declared.

It added:

Every day, due to the shortage of foods and basic necessities, Cubans have to stand in long lines that become massive crowds just to obtain the few goods that the government markets offer, thereby making it almost impossible to comply with the most elemental measures to protect themselves from coronavirus. To make matters worse, the Cuban government is selling some basic commodities exclusively in dollars, making them inaccessible to most Cuban families because all salaries are paid in national currency.

The letter, which was signed by activists Frank CalzonDr. Omar Vento, Rosa María Payá, and Victor Pujals, as well as Mayor Suarez and representatives of various civic organizations and pastors of evangelical Christian and other faith communities, asked the members of the U.S. Congress to insist that Cuba release the aid immediately.

The letter reminded Congress that some 25 Democrats of the House and Senate, including Senators Bernie Sanders and Tim Kaine, had written a letter in May calling on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to ensure that humanitarian aid is reaching Cuba.

Already impoverished by a communist system that has enriched the Castro family and kept security forces in place, Cubans are now facing even greater shortages of necessities. Some have taken the risk of going on social media to complain about hunger and shortages.

The Council of Cuban Churches, a group of evangelical Christian communities that has received approval from the communist government, has issued a statement claiming that the humanitarian aid is being motivated by "false interests" manipulated by President Trump's allies.

Activist Roots

Rosa María Payá is the daughter of Oswaldo Payáa faithful Catholic and bold defender of human rights. Despite the Cuban dictatorship's insistence that his 2012 death was his driver's fault, witnesses assert that they were rear-ended by another vehicle. Two other Cuban human rights advocates who were with Payá in the collision died later, also under suspicious circumstances. Many Cubans have concluded that the human rights activist was murdered at the behest of the communists. Thousands of Cubans turned out for his funeral.

Oswaldo Payá was persecuted for decades by Cuba's totalitarian government, initially for refusing to join the Communist League after the 1959 revolution. Sentenced to three years at hard labor, he provided spiritual direction and food to the poor at a church closed by the regime there

Image
Oswaldo Payá

When offered an opportunity to leave Cuba forever in 1980, he chose to stay in order to effect change. In 1988, Payá founded the Christian Liberation Movement (in Spanish: Movimiento Cristiano de Liberación) to promote reform. As a leading member of the resistance, he led the Varela Project (named for a patriotic priest) to reform the Cuban constitution by ending end one-party rule and allowing private business ownership. Cuban President Fidel Castro dubbed the effort a conspiracy backed by the United States to overthrow his regime.

Daughter Rosa Maria Payá now resides in the United States but has traveled frequently to Cuba. In 2016, she addressed the Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy, where she accused the Castro family of fostering "a fake transition not to democracy, but to legitimize their total control upon Cuban society, with a renewed image for the international public opinion, in order to attract foreign investors and financial credits."

This will lead, she said, to "dynastic State capitalism" or "Castro capitalism." That year, she turned over a petition signed by 10,000 Cubans asking for a plebiscite on freedom. In 2017, she asked President Trump to "press firmly on the Cuban government to respond to the claims of its people for the first time in 60 years." She is one of the most influential women of the Americas.

Severe Repression

In 2018, Vice President Mike Pence paid tribute to her during a swing through Latin America. He affirmed that the Trump administration is reversing the pro-socialist policy pursued by the previous administration, saying:

I'm greatly inspired by your courage and by your leadership that's inspiring people across Cuba, Cubans across America and across the wider world. And Rosa makes such an important point, that as we look across this hemisphere of freedom, and we see the collapse and the dictatorship in Venezuela ... the malign influence of decades of dictatorship and repression in Cuba has driven and expanded.

Paya released a video that announced the arrival of the humanitarian aid sent by Christians to their fellows on the island. She called on the customs authorities of the totalitarian state to release the assistance. Earlier, on social media, she released another video in which she told the public and journalists that she must be careful not to release the names of her collaborators in the United States or Cuba because of the repressive nature of the Cuban government.

The Cuban government would rather see people starve than release the aid that his sister churches have collected.Tweet

In an interview with Church Militant, Cuban émigré and evangelical Christian pastor Félix Lleonart said that the Cuban government would rather see people starve than release the aid that his sister churches have collected.

Image
Christian pastor Félix Lleonart

"It's a totalitarian system that will not allow free speech, elections nor equality before the law," he said. "On top of that, it won't allow Cubans living outside of Cuba to give aid directly to Cubans living on the island. It wants to control everything, even the churches."

Lleonart was persecuted and imprisoned for his faith by the Cuban government, eventually emigrating to the United States.

Cuba has stepped up its persecution of Catholics and other Christians and believers who do not conform to the communist regime.

For example, Pastor Lleonart was once imprisoned because of his active evangelization. Recently, singer Danay Suárez was charged with a hate crime after allegedly defaming LGBTQ activists on the island. An award-winning rap artist and born-again Christian, Suárez has gained a following in her native country, as well as in Europe and Latin America. According to Lleonart, she merited an accusation of homophobia and possible fine, imprisonment or worse because the lyrics of one of her songs was understood to be directed at Cuba's totalitarian government.

"Faithful Christians," he said, "are especially hated by the communists."

Class warfare, resentment vs. repentance, reconciliation

Over the past several decades, many leaders of the Catholic Church have incrementally downplayed the importance of accountability to the whole truth of God and our call to grow to maturity in the grace of divine righteousness. In place of the Church's sacred vocation and mission, they have embraced the secularist social justice agenda and its dynamic of perpetually arousing and appeasing resentments.

Image
(BLM) riots in Minneapolis

This dynamic has become even more ensconced in their thinking by their promotion of a moral system based on entitlement (i.e., people not only have the right to access what they believe is essential for their livelihood, but also the right to have such things given to them).

Thus, we have seen even vandals and looters viewed with codependent compassion — as merely seeking some form of occult compensation for the evils allegedly being perpetrated on them by our nation's "systemic racism."

The hierarchy's promotion of the racial animosity advocated by the Marxists' social justice agenda has been further enhanced by their decision to ignore the clear commands given in the Torah.

For example, Exodus 23:1–3 commands:

You shall not repeat a false rumor. Do not join the wicked in putting your hand, as an unjust witness, upon anyone. Neither shall you allege the example of the many as an excuse for doing wrong, nor shall you, when testifying in a lawsuit, side with the many in perverting justice. You shall not favor a poor man in his lawsuit.

Likewise, we read in Leviticus 19:15–16:

You shall not act dishonestly in rendering judgment. Show neither partiality to the weak nor deference to the mighty, but judge your fellow men justly. You shall not go about spreading slander among your kinsmen; nor shall you stand by idly when your neighbor's life is at stake. I am the LORD.

Unfortunately, those who allege that violating these commands for the sake of promoting the social justice agenda is morally permissible have been regularly honored by a number of Church leaders and institutions over the past 60 years — even as they promote the barbaric butchering of millions of pre-born babies annually.

There has been a further step in promoting the Marxist agenda of class warfare and resentment, rather than the righteous path of repentance, reconciliation and regeneration. And this step has even been taken by some popes!

This step is the assertion that Church must, contrary to the teaching in Exodus and Leviticus, promote a preferential option for the poor. Initially, this phrase may seem to be an appropriate motto for a saintly nun. But in a world still struggling against the false premises and promises of Marxism, it is extremely dangerous.

Image
Patrisse Cullors

Authentic Church teaching asserts neither that might makes right, nor that poverty makes right. White-collar crime and blue-collar crime are both crimes. Thus, those asserting that the rioting, vandalism violence and looting by "poverty-stricken" members of Black Lives Matter and Antifa should not be prosecuted, but rather praised as attempts to overcome systemic racism, are wrong.

In contrast to the fallacy of a preferential option for the poor, the authentic teaching of the Church denounces both the Marxist premise of class warfare and the social justice dynamic of arousing and appeasing resentments.

Instead, through Her teachings on Original Sin and the redemption offered in, with and through Jesus Christ, She invites all into a sacred mystery, which is redemptive, reconciling and regenerative.

Specifically, she offers all of humanity the freedom to recognize and address our common poverty and by humbly and contritely revealing that poverty to a gracious and merciful Father.

They promote the barbaric butchering of millions of pre-born babies annually.Tweet

If we are honest, each of us must admit that all of us suffer from numerous forms of poverty and helplessness.

Among these are financial problems, broken relationships, festering resentments, psychological traumas, crippling guilt, inability to clearly communicate, depression, chronic illnesses, self-loathing and a loss of a sense of the sacred.

In order to forget or distract ourselves from our own wretched poverty, we are tempted to despise and exploit the more obvious poverty of others — or even to slander whole groups of our fellow human beings.

Yet we cannot save ourselves by desecrating others, no matter how obvious and wretched their poverty seems to be. However, we can find a fountain of riches in our poverty if we humbly and gratefully allow that poverty to be more deeply integrated into the merciful, compassionate, multi-dimensional and transformative poverty of Christ crucified. United with Him, our poverty becomes receptivity to the graciousness of God — a graciousness that overcomes all the alienating power of cynicism, sin, resentment and self-desecration, which plague all fallen humanity.

We must, therefore, recognize anew that each human being is sacred. We reverence those suffering from poverty because they are sacred, not because their poverty is more obvious than ours.

In a world still struggling against the false premises and promises of Marxism, it is extremely dangerous.Tweet

Likewise, by the gracious wisdom offered by the Holy Spirit, we are drawn into a deep appreciation of the fact that all ministry is mutual. I find deliverance from my own poverty only to the degree that I am willing to humbly reverence the sacredness of another in his/her poverty. A reverent approach to human poverty in our fallen world requires more than material or spiritual relief. It requires that we all share more deeply in the reconciling and regenerative love of Jesus Christ, offered to us as He hung in prolonged helplessness and poverty on His Cross.

A true preferential option should not be directed to the poor as an object of our compassion, but rather as companions in a reconciling and redemptive pilgrimage out of the blindness of sin into a new vision of mutual reverence, respect and gratitude, whereby all of us are drawn to love one another, as Jesus is loving us. This is essential for appreciating and experiencing the gospel of Jesus as Good News, not merely as good history or good philosophy.

Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!
