Wade, it was commonly known that when a women aborted her pregnancy, it was predictable that she would be repeating the process within six months to a year. It was related to the natural drive to create life by some, others that it had become a form of birth control. The slippery slope, leading to a general devaluing of life and euthanasia, was argued and ridiculed by the left as exaggeration by right-wing religious fanatics. We are now facing laws that not only allow euthanasia but allow doctors to refuse medical help and hasten death. Babies that survive the abortion process are left to die horrible deaths that most of us wouldn't tolerate for the family dog. In some cases infanticide has been now suggested as acceptable, and has occurred.
It is impossible to relate the relative freedom and predictable quality of life before the "sexual revolution". Women's "choice" was to withhold sexual relations to prevent pregnancy in those days. Dating was a matter of finding a marriage partner with whom one could share life and with whom one could raise children. An idea that has rational thinking to support it --even the birds do it. Chaos has always followed licentiousness. Now we have generations caught up in a lifestyle that can only lead to misery, confusion and much anger. The pro abortion children ARE angry---they have been led astray and are paying a huge price that they refuse to pay. They were told it was freedom and equality with men. Have some pity for the children whom we have allowed to be this propagandized--pray for the children.

Without Faith, it's very hard to live a good life, if one has not formed their conscience according to a Supreme Being. Of course, there are those, like Joe Biden, who call themselves Catholic, yet are just fine with killing human babies! To me, that says there is no relationship with God-they're just going through the motions. When Joe Biden says he prays the rosary, I often wonder, what is he praying for? His Presidency, so far, has been laced with reversing everything President Trump did! As an adult, is that any way to act towards a former leader of the free world, who did everything he could to make America strong? Now, we are weak, because of Joe's stance on everything he touches. In any case, conversions are needed-desperately, outside and inside the Church! It's pathetic!

In 1978 or 1979 (I think), I attended a talk entitled "Abortion and Jewish Law", given by Rabbi Feinberg at that time at Temple Beth Israel on Mound Street (he defected to New York state some years after that), at the Hillel center near the UW campus, Madison, Wisconsin.
He made the interesting remark that he read "Roe vs. Wade" in preparation for the talk, and he was rather surprised. In his view, it is a (his words) "Jewish decision". He was of the opinion that if you had nine conservative or reform rabbis making the judgement, they would come to the same conclusion. Apparently, the reform and conservative communities regard an unwanted child as a "pursuer", and for that reason, the mother may do anything -- until the child's head is delivered, for then "one does not exchange a life for a life." It's amazingly incoherent reasoning.
Imagine, classifying a gestating child -- who is present precisely because of the activities of adults, and not as a consequence of anything the child did -- in the same category as a mugger or assassin!
