Obama’s ‘Personal’ Vendetta Drove Anti-Israel UN Campaign, Says Ex-Ambassador 6 Comments Jun 2, 2022

“We did good things with President Obama,” recalls former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon, which “crashed” amid Obama’s “shameful resolution in the Security Council

During their terms in office, it was no secret that there was friction between former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and ex-U.S. President Barack Obama. While the U.S. remained Israel’s top ally during this period, concessions were requested from the Jewish state vis a vis Iran and the Palestinians that many Israelis deemed an existential threat.

A new book by former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon sheds light on he ex-diplomats tenure at the United Nations, where he served as Permanent Representative until 2020.

In The Lion’s Den: Israel And The World also delves into the Netanyahu-Obama dynamic, examining the source of alleged animosity on the part of the American president toward his Israeli counterpart.

Obama’s hostility reached a crescendo immediately before the end of his term with the passage of UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which demanded that Israel stop building Jewish towns in Judea and Samaria and portions of its capital, Jerusalem. The resolution passed based on the U.S.’ abstention from voting, an unprecedented step that represented a diplomatic betrayal of the Jewish state of the highest order.

“At that point I felt like I was alone against the entire world. Usually it’s us against the Palestinians or the EU, sometimes,” recalls Danon in an excerpt published by the UK’s Jewish Chronicle. “But here I was sitting in the Security Council fighting against the U.S. and all our allies. That was the hardest moment in my public life.”

In the book, Danon calls Obama’s UN campaign against Israel “cowardly.”

Shortly after Resolution 2334 passed, an Egyptian news report corroborated statements by Israeli leaders that the U.S. helped draft the anti-Israel resolution and discussed ways to ensure it would pass.

Specifically, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with senior Palestinian officials to help draft the wording, in addition to other behind-the-scenes maneuvering.

With regard to the role Obama played in this episode and his posture toward Netanyahu, Danon states in his book, “I think it was mostly personal, between Obama and Netanyahu. I think Obama wanted to be the one who made the last call.”

Danon adds, “It was unfortunate and I think it was a mistake because we did good things with President Obama, but nobody really remembers them. They crashed the minute he put forward that shameful resolution in the Security Council.”

  • Even worse than Obama are so called progressive Jews. Put them back 75 years and they would be the same Jews who worked for the Jewish Agency and impliedly assisted the Nazis. In effect they have ghetto Jew mentality and are offended by Israel's alpha masculine persona. They cloak their self loathing and self destruction with virtue signaling: anything gay, good; anything Trans, good; anything Black or Brown good; anything "tax the wealth", good; anything Palestinian, then very very good. They worship NPR and the NYT and think CNN is moderate. The only blacks they know are either their maids or well to do blacks whose kids attend the same private school. But they are against charter schools even in the inner city.

The majority of assimilated American Jews would anyway vote a third time for Presiudent Obama, this news doesn't faze them. They are diehard Democrat voters , even The Squad doesn't irk them. Israel is an afterthought to all other liberal left wing "social-justice" causes which they think IS Judaism.

Obama vetoed every anti-Israel demonization resolution in the UN, but the last one. It was unimportant and had no effect on Israel's possession of land it purchased and won through war in Judea and Samaria. According to Ehud Barak, Obama provided the initial funding for Iron Dome. Biden advised him that Elbit had developed it but needed funding. Obama took ALREADY appropriated Pentagon funds, to avoid debate in Congress, and GAVE it to Elbit. I'm not buying Obama had an anti-Israel agenda. I heard Barak say it on TV myself, He actually grabbed the microphone from the TV crew to make sure he thanked Obama publicly for everyone to hear!!

The only way behavior like Obama’s will ever end is with consequences! If the parties were reversed and we pulled this behavior the leftists would be in our face! Republicans/conservatives need to work politically not whine for the first time ever. When there our consequences bad behavior ends!!

Demographics indicate no more Israel, though it is Jewish land, by Divine Command. The number of Muslims Israel would have to kill, to insure its peaceful survival, is, likely, far beyond any number politically possible? Little by little, the Muslims are occupying the Jewish land? Israel has no dependable allies? Those Jews who are voting against Israel, perhaps they see diaspora returning, for all who survive the Muslim extermination of Israel? They hope the extermination campaign will cease, if there is no Jewish State of Israel? It seems to me, the Jihadis are required, by their religion, to exterminate all Jews, not only those in Israel? We know that the One who chose the Jews can defeat anyone, any time, any way He wants. What is He going to do, or not do?

Israel’s Worst Nightmare? Iran Has Enough Uranium for Nuclear Bomb, Says Ex-UN Inspector 0 Comments Jun 2, 2022

Amid reports confirming that Iran lied about its nuclear program, a former UN inspector maintains Iran’s “breakout time” is now zero.

An ex-United Nations nuclear inspector recently claimed that Iran already possesses enough enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon.

The comments were made by David Albright, who worked for the UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the 1990s. According to Albright, Iran’s so-called breakout time is zero, which does not necessarily mean, however, that Iran could immediately build a nuclear weapon.

“Iran has reached this critical period where its breakout time is zero. And what that means is that now it has enough highly enriched uranium to fashion a nuclear weapon,” Albright told Iran International, an Iranian opposition media outlet. Albright currently serves as the president of a Washington-based private entity called the Institute for Science and International Security, which monitors nuclear weapons proliferation.

According to Albright, the amount of time it takes Iran to build a nuclear weapon depends on the specifications of the device Iran creates.

“They may choose to make a crude nuclear explosive to detonate underground, or to deliver it crudely or through crude methods like truck or ship. That could happen over the course of several months, less than six months,” said Albright.

The news broke a day after dozens of Israeli aircraft simulated airstrikes on long-range targets in a drill many thought mimicked an attack on Iran.

According to the IDF, the exercise “involved long-range flight, aerial refueling and striking distant targets.”

Iran remains Israel’s greatest threat and the Jewish state staunchly opposes the nuclear agreement the the Biden administration is trying to resurrect with the Islamic Republic.

On Tuesday, Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett tweeted a Google Drive link containing data he said proves that Iran spied on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in order to “evade nuclear probes.”

“Iran lied to the world, Iran is lying to the world again right now, and the world must make sure that Iran doesn’t get away scot-free,” said Bennett.
