DC CRIME: Morning Joe NUKES Dems’ Favorite Narrative… Citing Leftwing Sources
Not even their faithful flunkie Scarborough is toe-ing the party line on this one
When the Dem narrative has even lost Joe and Mika, it’s time to rethink your narrative.
The knee-jerk response of the Dems to any of Trump’s policies is to object and call it one of many species of ‘wrong’. It might be misguided, or the wrong solution to the problem. It might be oppressive and authoritarian. It might be over-reach or unconstitutional.
They ‘why’ of it being wrong can be backfilled easily enough after the fact. The main thing is that they object that it’s wrong.
The latest example of Trump being wrong is in invoking a clause in the DC Home Rule Act that allows the Executive Branch to take over policing for a set period of time under certain circumstances.
Trump invoked the issue of rampant crime as the ‘why’ for invoking the same clause that Dems tried unsuccessfully to remove from law during the Biden years.
Schumer, for example, said he never felt unsafe while walking the neighborhoods in DC. He never specified ‘which’ neighborhood and he was careful not to mention the armed security that just happens to come with being the highest-ranking Democrat Senator.
Maybe he’s still stinging from getting called out for fluffing Joe Biden’s pillows when we all could see he was scarcely the shell of the man he once was (such as it is), or maybe because he’s afraid out-of-touch Dems are going to lose another election, but Joe and Mika are NOT parroting this talking point.
He cited a WaPo poll where 91% of residents thinking that crime is a serious issue, and 51% think it is extremely serious.
And he jackhammers the lefties calling Trump ‘racist’ for raising the DC crime issue, pointing out that the affluent white residents are not as concerned about crime as the working-class and miniorities, especially minority women.
