Tis The Lord! Oh Wondrous Story!

During our worship yesterday, we sang several songs that if it were possible, it would have brought tears to my eyes because they spoke of my love and devotion to my Father! But I also realized that some of us can become overwhelmed with life. Things just seem to pile up on us, and we feel drained. Well, those are the times when you need to be refreshed and renewed, and it won’t come by hoping it will — you must seek His presence in your life for that refreshment.
Friends, when your spirit is parched, it feels good to have your thirst quenched with the Spirit of the Lord! I want you to be joyful and at peace with life again. And to do that, you need to spend more time with your Father. He longs for a relationship with you. But if you are not willing to set time aside to sit in His presence; to listen; to pray; to read His word and worship Him, there is no way for you to enjoy a loving relationship with Him.
Love Is Here
Come to the waters, you who thirst and you’ll thirst no more.
Come to the father, you who work and you’ll work no more.
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed:
Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from
His hands, from his brows.
Love is near, it satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Cuz love is here.
Come to the treasure, you who search and you’ll search no more.
Come to the lover you who want and you’ll want no more, no.
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed,
Yeah:
Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from his hands, from his brows.
Love is near, it satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Yeah
And to the bruised and fallen,
Captives, bound, and broken hearted.
He is the lord
He is the lord,
Yeah
By his stripes he’s paid our ransom
From his wounds we drink salvation
He is the lord
He is the lord
Love is here.
Love is now.
Love is pouring from his hands, from his brows.
Love is near,
It satisfies.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Streams of mercy flowing from his side.
Cuz love is here
Love is here
Then we sang a song, which I could never understand, is labeled a Christmas Carol. The song only mentions our Lord’s birth once; the rest of the song walks you through the rest of His life. It is a song that is appropriate to sing any day and any season.
Who Is He In Yonder Stall
Who is He in yonder stall,
At whose feet the shepherds fall?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He in deep distress,
Fasting in the wilderness?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He the people bless
For His words of gentleness?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He to whom they bring
All the sick and sorrowing?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He that stands and weeps
At the grave where Lazarus sleeps?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He the gathering throng
Greet with loud triumphant song?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Lo! at midnight, who is He
Prays in dark Gethsemane?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He on yonder tree
Dies in grief and agony?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He who from the grave
Comes to succor, help, and save?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Who is He who from His throne
Rules through all the worlds alone?
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!

Oh, sing it again! Who is it who will bring the Victory:
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Like I said, we can sing it any day and any season! Go ahead and start your day proclaiming who it is you love and so desperately need:
’Tis the Lord! oh wondrous story!
’Tis the Lord! the King of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! crown Him, Lord of all!
Oh, how I want each of you to be fired up and encouraged to go forth in power; in love; through passion and eagerness. Don’t let anything slow you down! I want physical renewals, and financial explosions to pour into your life! Don’t let anything discourage you! Don’t allow any doubt enter you heart that our Father wants less than the best for you.
I just got off the phone with a dear friend who has experienced this revolutionary change in his life and is now on fire with the life; the joy; the excitement of Jesus! As my friend has discovered, NOTHING is impossible with our Lord! You have to decide if prayer and worship is going to be, as Corrie Ten Boom describes, “Your steering wheel or your spare tire”?
Honest, is your prayer life something you pull out in the advent of a problem, or do you allow it to be what directs your life? I’ll you what, if you tell me you aren’t sure, I already know. Your life of prayer and worship should comprise who you are, not what you do.
Well, let’s see if a brief time of worship can bring you out of that “funk” your in right now:
Mighty Is The Power Of The Cross Lyrics
What can take a dying man
And raise him up to life again?
What can heal the wounded soul?
What can make us white as snow?
What can fill the emptiness?
What can mend our brokenness? Brokenness?
Mighty, awesome, wonderful
Is the Holy cross
Where the Lamb lay down His life
To lift us from the fall
Mighty is the power of the cross
What restores our faith in God?
What reveals the Father’s love?
What can lead the wayward home?
What can melt a heart of stone?
What can free the guilty ones?
What can save and overcome? Overcome?
Mighty, awesome, wonderful
Is the Holy cross
Where the Lamb lay down His life
To lift us from the fall
Mighty is the power of the cross
It’s a miracle to me, it’s a miracle to me
It’s still a mystery and it’s still a mystery
It’s a miracle to me the power of God
For those who believe
Mighty, awesome, wonderful
Is the Holy cross
Where the Lamb lay down His life
To lift us from the fall
Oh and mighty, awesome, wonderful
Is the Holy cross
Where the Lamb lay down His life
To lift us from the fall
Mighty is the power of
Mighty is the power of
Mighty is the power of the cross
Thank You for the cross.
Thank You for the cross.
I love the cross
I love the cross
It’s a powerful cross
What can take a dying man
(Thank You Jesus)
And raise him up to life again?
(Thank You Jesus)
Worship You Jesus
(Wonderful cross)
By Your wounds we are healed
By Your wounds we are saved
Mighty is the power of the cross
Mighty is the power of the cross
Thank You Jesus
For the Holy cross

Oh mighty is the power of the cross! Nothing can hinder the love and the power of our Lord! Just allow Him access to your heart, and watch the Glory begin!
Indescribable
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

My hope is that you can discover  indescribable our God really is! When you pause and look to Heaven, are you able to contain all of that in a little box? How Uncontainable is He? When you take the time to look at Him, how amazing is He?
Unfailing Love
You have my heart and I am Yours forever
You are my strength, God of grace and power
And everything You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me, I cant understand
Praise You God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love, unfailing love
And You never change God You remain
The Holy One, my unfailing love, unfailing love
You are my rock one I hold on to
You are my song and I sing for You
And everything You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me, I cant understand
Praise You God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love, unfailing love
And You never change God You remain
The Holy One, my unfailing love, unfailing love
And everything You hold in Your hand
(Everything)
Still you make time for me, I cant understand
(Can’t understand still)
Praise You God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love, unfailing love
And You never change God You remain
The Holy One, my unfailing love, unfailing love
(I’ll praise You)
Praise you God of earth and sky
How beautiful is Your unfailing love, unfailing love
(Unfailing)
And You never change God You remain
The Holy One, my unfailing love, unfailing love
Unfailing love
(Unfailing)
Unfailing love
Unfailing love
Unfailing love
You are unfailing, my unfailing love

After you have done all this examination, are still the same? Has the Spirit of God moved on your heart? Have you become undone, when you saw his splendor?

With these Morning Messages, I take you on guided tours to, as Bunyan described, the Celestial City. At times we linger at corners familiar and unseen. And explore the depths of our faith along the way.
The trail is long, but there’s no hurry. Though we do need to stock up on supplies for the way, and that’s where I need your help. If you enjoy these messages, please consider becoming a contributing member of this tour group. It will be very much appreciated.
