Doomsday Clock Set at 3 Minutes to Midnight

Last month, for the first time in 21 years, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists has announced it is setting its iconic “Doomsday Clock” to a mere three minutes to midnight, approaching levels not seen since the early stages of the cold war in 1953.
In its official statement, Executive Director Kennette Benedict said that the current situations “pose extraordinary and undeniable threats to the continued existence of humanity. And world leaders have failed to act with the speed or on the scale required to protect citizens from potential catastrophe.”
