Our Present Realities

Let’s be honest and admit that times are getting tougher. The battle lines between life and Truth our Father offers, and the hatred and animosity we face from the world, are being drawn. When we stand up for what is right, we find that people will call us close-minded fanatics and say that we are overreacting when you point out their lies and the sin in their lives.
Oh, we would be much more loved and popular if we declared, “Nah, God ain’t made at you. What you used to hear about God judging and condemning people, is all over with. He only loves people, regardless of what we do or what we believe.” Yeah, they would run to book stores and clear the shelves of our books and they would put us on our own TV show. But unfortunately, truth is truth, and we are called to proclaim it — uncompromisingly.
The reality is that when you pursue Jesus with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your strength, people are going call you a nut. They will declare you to be a “fundamentalist,” and condemn every word you utter. They will say that you are too fervent. But friends, fire is fire. Do you remember the story about blind Bartimaeus, and how he needed a touch from Jesus? Well, instead of remaining silent when the Messiah went by, he cried out to Him: “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” Well, all the people around him told him to shut up and sit down! The Bible tells us that they rebuked and scolded. But that didn’t stop him, he cried out all the more! And guess what? Jesus was pleased with him! He said, “Take courage! Get up!
Hey! When people start making fun of you; when they try to shout you down or silence you, don’t stop crying out for Truth! Don’t stop crying out for Jesus to touch them, to rescue them for judgment. Don’t let anyone put out your fire!
