The saber-rattling towards Iran has continued to grow louder over the last week after President Trump responded to an implied threat from the Islamic Republic’s President Hassan Rouhani that it was prepared to unleash the “mother of all” wars on America.
Trump is not a man who is going to just sit there and allow a repressive terrorist state to get away with such malarkey and let it be known in an ALL CAPS volley from his weapons-grade Twitter account.
Which quickly was responded to by Iran with the following taunt:
With tensions now running high and the chance for hostilities to break out any time given a provocation by the mad mullahs and their allies, there are some who are warning of a rush into a war that could have unintended consequences and those pushing for one who are the same people who said that Iraq would be a cakewalk.
Fox’s Tucker Carlson issued a dire warning on any rush to war with Iran on his Tuesday night program.
CHECK IT OUT:
Carlson makes some very good points in his warning to the president to not be bamboozled by the hawkish interests in his administration, influential neocons like Bill Kristol and others who were instrumental in selling former President George W. Bush on attacking Iraq.
Whether or not you agree with him, there is plenty of food for thought here.
Via Real Clear Politics, “Tucker Carlson: Kristol, “Swamp” Foreign Policy Establishment “Working Overtime To Ensnare Trump In Iran”:
Tucker Carlson delivered a monologue Tuesday night on “neocons” and their influence in the Washington “swamp” despite “embarrassing” track records. Carlson said individuals like Bill Kristol are “working overtime” to get the U.S. to go to war with Iran.If President Trump decides to go to war with Iran, it will destroy his presidency, just as the Iraq War destroyed the presidency of his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, Carlson said.“If there was a swamp in Washington, you’re looking at it, the foreign policy establishment,” Carlson said. “They are working overtime to ensnare the president in a mess in Iran. Let’s hope that he understands exactly what’s going on.”“They have no idea what they are talking about,” he said of the foreign policy establishment. “Their track records are embarrassing. Disaster after disaster. They ought to be selling time-shares in Maui or doing something useful.”“Instead, they have more political power than they have ever had,” he said. Amazingly, almost to a person, the same group bitterly opposed the president they now work for. They repeatedly attacked him in public and they attacked him savagely in private.”“Neocon intellectuals feel powerful. Bill Kristol, Max Boot and Nancy Pelosi agree on one thing, war is good as long as the war does not help the United States,” Carlson said.
Tucker’s entire monologue can be read HERE.
Trump has already indicated that he is open to talking to Iran to redo Obama-Kerry’s pact with the devil in his speech at the VFW Convention in Kansas City on Tuesday and while he is tough, he isn’t reckless.
Democrats are already salivating over the prospects of a war with Iran for which they will all but certainly impeach Trump over but as we previously saw with North Korea, it sometimes takes some tough talk to bring recalcitrant parties back to the negotiating table.
