Shalom, Carl,
This is a story you haven’t heard on the news.
The media’s silence over the past four years has been deafening when it comes to the desperate plight of Iraqi Christians. And even more frightening, the United Nations Refugee Agency has completely neglected them — leaving them defenseless and vulnerable with nowhere to turn.
In August 2014, ISIS stormed northern Iraq and ravaged 2,000-year-old Christian cities and towns. And ISIS gave the Christian citizens an impossible choice: Convert to Islam or die.
Tens of thousands of Iraqi Christian men, women, and children fled their homes, with little more than the clothes on their backs, in fear of being killed at the hand of terrorists.
Now, four years later, they are living on the streets of Jordan — surviving only on small acts of kindness from local churches.
The United Nations has been silent to their plight, keeping these Christians from receiving refugee status that would provide them with international aid such as food, medicine, and shelter, and would allow them to work in Jordan.
They have nothing to go “home” to and have lost all hope for a better future for their families.
The U.N. has forgotten them long enough! Sign our petition today and demand that the U.N. help these vulnerable Christians rebuild their shattered lives and send a powerful message to these survivors that they are NOT ALONE!
Our Christian brethren are deeply suffering. We must not avert our eyes and allow these atrocities to continue. Please join with me and send a strong message to the U.N., urging them to act today. |
With prayers for shalom, peace,
