One Fox News contributor is still having trouble moving on from Hillary Clinton’s 2016 defeat.
Donna Brazile, known best for her role as interim chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), revealed on Fox & Friends on Saturday that she is among those who believe that Russia is to blame for Clinton’s loss.

Brazile’s comments came as panelists were discussing Clinton’s scheduled appearance as the keynote speaker at an upcoming cybersecurity summit — an ironic honor for the former secretary of State, who has been investigated over her misuse of a private email server during her tenure at the State Department.
For her part, Brazile talked up Clinton, arguing that as the victim of Vladimir Putin’s ire, the former first lady “understands the threat” better than anyone.

“Let me just say this, she understands the threat,” Brazile said of Clinton. “I’m sure she is going to talk about some of the remedies and what we should do going forward. As the former secretary of State, she understands that part of our arsenal to defend our nation is not just having a military, the bombs, and all of this other stuff. We’ve got to have a good cybersecurity strategy.”
Fellow Fox contributor Pete Hegseth responded by suggesting that “there’s not a lot of credibility in the reservoir for Hillary Clinton when it comes to cybersecurity.” But Brazile pushed back, again pointing to the Kremlin as the perpetrators.
“The reason [Clinton]’s not in the White House today is because this country was attacked and she was the main victim of that attack,” Brazile said. “I was there. I saw it, I felt it.”

Taking a cue from Hegseth, Fox & Friends co-host Jedediah Bila offered Brazile a different explanation as to why Clinton was unable to defeat now-President Donald Trump.
“A lot of voters felt that she’s not in the White House because she lied repeatedly about sending emails over an unsecured server,” Bila said. “And because she missed whole states; she decided not to go to certain states” during her campaign, Bila added.
Brazile responded that while those may have been factors, Russian interference certainly belongs in the top three sources of blame for Clinton’s defeat.
“There are also reasons No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, but I guarantee you one of those three is because the Russians attacked the United States of America,” Brazile said. “Period. That’s it.”
Not making progress in their debate with the former DNC chair, the Fox & Friends hosts wrapped up their interview there, leaving it clear that Brazile — like so many Democrats — is stuck in 2016, continuing to look for explanations for Clinton’s loss while ignoring the obvious truth staring her in the face: The American people just didn’t want to be led by Hillary Clinton. Sorry, not sorry.
