PREGNANCY CARE CENTER VANDALIZED Unidentified vandals poured blood-red paint on the front door of the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center in Washington, DC. The criminals also threw eggs at the facility's windows and spray-painted "Jane says revenge" on the walls. The incident is the latest in a string of attacks on Catholic churches and pro-life care centers by pro-abortion activists vowing "revenge" and in some cases violence in response to reports that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe vs. Wade. DeSANTIS VS. WOKE BASEBALL Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-FL, on Friday vetoed $3.1 billion in spending from a $109.9 billion budget bill. A portion of the funds he vetoed were slated to pay for a sports complex which the Tampa Bay Rays would have used as a training facility. According to OutKick, DeSantis made the decision in response to the Rays’ public calls for gun control after recent shootings. The Rays have also partnered with Left-wing activist organizations to agitate for new gun regulations. READ |

BIDEN BORDER STRATEGY FAILING The Biden administration announced over a year ago that it would address the border crisis by solving its "root causes" with aid to Central America. Today, however, a number of high-dollar projects initiated by the Biden plan have been scrapped due to corruption among South American government officials. “In one striking example, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) abruptly suspended an undisclosed amount of funding tied to Guatemala's justice ministry in July 2021 after the firing of a special prosecutor targeting corruption days earlier,” Reuters reported. DeSANTIS: KIDS NEED DAD Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-FL, told an interviewer this week that fathers need to be present to their children. “If … every kid in America had a loving father in the home, we would have far, far fewer problems that we would have to deal with as a society,” DeSantis said. The governor recently signed a package of legislation to address the crisis of fatherlessness by providing mentorship for fatherless young people and career opportunities for dads. READ |

PRO-CHOICE VICTORY? Abortion apologists have already begun touting a new Gallup poll that shows growth in the number of Americans who identify as pro-choice. “The poll shows 55% of Americans identify as ‘pro-choice,’” reported pro-life researcher Michael New. “This is a 5 percentage point gain from the last Gallup poll taken in May 2021.” New added: “However, pro-lifers need not be worried -- here's why...” READ |

ANALYSIS: McELROY’S PROMOTION Many faithful Catholic commentators have lamented Pope Francis’ decision to elevate Bishop Robert McElroy by creating him Cardinal. The controversial cleric is known as a friend to the American abortion regime as well as to the LGBTQ movement. However, as Stephen P. White argues in this essay, there is a strong and growing cohort of American Catholic bishops who are likely unconcerned with McElroy’s elevation. And these bishops, White points out, know the American scene better than the Vatican does. READ |

ARE HIGH GAS PRICES INTENTIONAL? This year's Memorial Day travel was the most expensive on record, thanks to gas prices hitting $4.62 a gallon - the highest national average ever recorded. "But as Americans were struggling to put gas in the tank, President Biden appeared to praise high gas prices as a necessary part of our historic shift away from fossil fuels," writes Marc Thiessen. The president's remark "was not just another Biden gaffe," however, "it is administration policy." READ |
| | | 17 MONKEYPOX CASES There are 17 current cases of monkeypox in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Sixteen of those cases are among men who have sexual relations with other men. “Ongoing investigation suggests person-to-person community transmission, and CDC urges health departments, clinicians, and the public to remain vigilant, institute appropriate infection prevention and control measures, and notify public health authorities of suspected cases to reduce disease spread,” a CDC report stated. RACIAL GRADING SYSTEM The Defense of Freedom Institute filed a civil rights complaint with the Department of Education against the Oak Park and River Forest school district in Illinois after the district’s only high school announced it would adopt new grading rules to change outcomes based on students’ skin color. “[The district] seeks to implement a race-based grading policy that not only violates the Constitution and civil rights law but also harms the very students it is intended to help,” wrote Defense of Freedom Institute President Robert Eitel.
