PRESS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wichita, KS — Operation Rescue has announced that Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Vice President of Operation Rescue, will retire effective June 30, 2022.

Sullenger has worked for Operation Rescue at its headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, for 19 years. Before that, she headed her own pro-life activist organization in San Diego, California, that saved the lives of hundreds of babies. Sullenger spent 38 years working to end abortion.

During her time with Operation Rescue, she has worked to research and document abortion abuses, expose them publicly, and file complaints that have resulted in disciplinary action against several abortionists, including license revocations of several more, including the notorious Florida late-term abortionist James Scott Pendergraft IV. Her work has also contributed to the closure of numerous abortion facilities.

Sullenger is known for being the first pro-life journalist to report daily on the 2013 Kermit Gosnell abortion/murder trial from the courtroom. Later, she wrote The Trial of Kermit Gosnell about her experiences uncovering Gosnell’s wrongdoing and the bombshell revelations she witnessed during the trial.

She co-authored with Troy Newman the book Abortion Free: Your manual for building a pro-life America one community at a time, which was based in part on her decades of experience.

“I want to thank Cheryl for her years of work that have saved lives, brought justice, and contributed to bringing us a little closer to ending abortion,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “She will be missed.”

Sullenger plans to continue contributing to the pro-life movement as opportunities arise.

Sullenger is retiring with her husband of 43 years, Randall. Together they plan to spend more time with their family, including their nine grandchildren.
