Tipping Point Saturday Seven (03.30.24)"...a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead"What a week of activity! I know you’ve been following the news closely, from the collapse of the bridge in Baltimore to the Supreme Court hearings about abortion drugs to the deteriorating relationship between the United States and Israel (more on that below). But more important than all of that is the fact that tomorrow is Easter Sunday. Jesus is alive, Christ has risen from the dead, and He has given us eternal life through His great sacrifice:
I hope you have a wonderful Easter Sunday tomorrow as we celebrate the Resurrection and the good news of eternal life! Share this newsletter with someone you know: 1. Wisdom from ScriptureI thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.—Philippians 1:3-5 (NKJV) 2. Quote to Consider“This satanic hatred towards what God loves is sadly evident in the ongoing conflict in the Holy Land. Just as God showed His unwavering compassion for Israel throughout the Old Testament, He retains a special affection for the Jewish people today. But the enemy seeks to destroy those whom the Lord has chosen. We witness this cosmic struggle unfolding in the Middle East right now, as evil powers want to wipe out the nation God swore to preserve.” [from our book, What’s Next? Israel-Gaza War] 3. Pay Attention to This NewsA newly released survey from Gallup, conducted earlier in March, reveals that 55 percent of Americans now disapprove of Israel’s military action in Gaza. Only 36 percent approve. That’s a substantial drop in support since the October 7 attack by Hamas on Israel. According to the data, respondents across all three major political persuasions (Democrat, Republican and Independent) have become less supportive of Israel overall. 4. Comment of the Week“Such a concise, yet impactful good word. I would love to share it with so many people who are fearful at different times. I'm going to listen to it multiple times, so I can have it in my own spirit to share. Praise you, Jesus, for all you have done for us and all you went through in your bodily form so you could relate to us and we to you.” 5. Definition of the Week: SovereigntySovereignty: The Christian belief in God’s ultimate authority and control over His creation. It states that God’s supreme power gives Him the ability to accomplish His will and purpose without constraint. He is omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipresent (present everywhere). The truth of this concept is clear throughout the Bible, from the Creation story in Genesis 1 to teachings by Jesus in Matthew 10 about God’s minor control over life’s details. The doctrine of God’s sovereignty gives believers comfort in knowing that God is in control of all circumstances. At the same time, His ways are often higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and we may not always see or understand His plan at the present moment. 6. Link of the WeekSmall towns and rural counties in the path of totality are preparing for enormous crowds, heavy traffic, long lines for gas, cell service disruptions and other potential impacts from the coming April 8 eclipse:
During the 2017 eclipse, the small town of Beatrice, Nebraska (population 12,000) saw an influx of 40,000 people to watch the eclipse. Restaurants rans out of food, gas stations ran out of fuel, and restrooms had to close from overuse. I recently spoke about the eclipse with guest A.C. Katz, author of The Great American Writing on the Wall in this episode of the Tipping Point Show. 7.
