Cambridgeshire Police said that a social media post featuring a swastika intertwined with the Star of David, aimed at the Union of Jewish Students (UJS), did not meet the threshold of being “grossly offensive.”

Our Fellows Are the Tip of the Spear

Carl,

Last spring, anti-Israel protests and encampments roiled campuses across the country. The events themselves were ugly and deeply troubling. But the widespread coverage of these events had one unintended benefit — they woke up the Jewish community to the terrible anti-Semitism that has been steadily rising on our campuses.

There are fewer reports about anti-Semitic protests and incidents this fall. But we must not be lulled back to sleep.

Every day, the Maccabee Task Force receives — and responds to — reports of campus anti-Semitism. Here are just a handful of examples of the kinds of incidents we're dealing with:

Anti-Israel Activists at Columbia Ask Students to Support Terror Financier

On Tuesday, a group of anti-Israel student organizations at Columbia University handed out pamphlets near the campus gates promoting Samidoun, a group sanctioned in the U.S. for alleged support of terrorism. One page urges “revolution and resistance until liberation and return.” Another encourages readers to “kill the beast from within.” Read more here.

Harvard Pro-Hamas Students Harass Jewish Students Outside Hillel

Anti-Israel students protested outside Harvard University’s Hillel on Monday, chanting, “Zionists are not welcome here,” as students entered the Jewish community center. The protest, organized by Harvard Jews for Palestine, targeted former Israel Defense Forces spokesman Ronen Manelis, who was speaking inside. Around a dozen demonstrators accused Israel of being a “terrorist state” and held banners with slogans like “Hillel Hosts War Criminals.” Read more here.

Tufts University Suspends Students for Justice in Palestine Until 2027

Tufts University suspended Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) through January 2027, prompting the organization to disaffiliate from the school last week. The suspension followed five incidents this year, including an October rally where SJP used images of weapons and called for a “student intifada,” violating multiple university policies. Months Later, Antisemitism Investigations at Temple University Remain Ongoing

Three investigations into alleged antisemitism at Temple University remain ongoing, including one by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and two by Temple and Philadelphia Police. The DOE investigation centers on pro-Palestine protests where chants like “Intifada revolution” and “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” were used. Police investigations involve two separate vandalism incidents where messages like “Free Palestine” and “Israel = genocide” were written on campus property. Read more here.

UK Police Say Swastika Directed at Jewish Students Is Not a Hate Crime

Every day, the Maccabee Task Force and our campus allies track developments at dozens of campuses — on the ground, online, and on social media. Protecting Jewish students is a 24/7/365 responsibility. But we need your help to make sure we have the resources we need to stay on top of all of these events. You can support our efforts with a generous donation of any amount.
