Jesus and the Ten Commandments
Understanding how Christ fulfills and transcends the Old Testament law.

The Ten Commandments, central to the Old Testament, hold a foundational place in Judeo-Christian ethics. However, in the New Testament, Jesus offers a transformative perspective on these laws, emphasizing their fulfillment and deeper spiritual intent.
Jesus' Approach to the Ten Commandments
Notably, the New Testament does not explicitly command adherence to the Ten Commandments as a distinct set. Instead, Jesus encapsulates the essence of the law through two overarching commandments:
Love God Completely
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment."
Love Your Neighbor as Yourself
"And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."
By focusing on these principles, Jesus shifts the emphasis from strict legal adherence to cultivating a heart posture of love and devotion.
The Fulfillment of the Law in Christ
Jesus declares that He came not to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them. This fulfillment signifies that through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus embodies the perfect obedience and ultimate purpose of the law. Believers are thus called to live by the Spirit, allowing Christ's love to guide their actions, rather than relying solely on the letter of the law.
Implications for Believers Today
Understanding Jesus' relationship with the Ten Commandments encourages believers to:
Embrace a Heart of Love
Prioritize loving God and others, recognizing that genuine love fulfills the law's intent.
Live by the Spirit
Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance to embody Christ-like virtues, moving beyond mere rule-following to a transformative way of life.
Reflect Christ's Character
Aim to mirror Jesus' example, who perfectly fulfilled the law through His love, compassion, and righteousness.
Conclusion
Jesus' teachings invite believers to transcend a legalistic approach to the Ten Commandments, embracing a life led by love and the Spirit. By internalizing these principles, Christians can experience a deeper, more authentic relationship with God and others.

“Yahweh bless you, and keep you. Yahweh make His face shine on you & be gracious to you; May the LORD's face enlighten you and bestow favor on you. The LORD lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval], And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’”

If God is omnipresent and omnipotent then God is present in every atomic particle in our universe and beyond. God's spirit is atomically charged energy and is all things, which is scientifically proven. If we love God omnipresently, including our enemies, with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength or all of our faculties, having reverence for all, then we cannot violate anyone or anything and therefore we are fulfilling all the law by loving God with all our faculties.
We cannot love a transcendent God with any of our faculties with the possible exception of a delusional and limited imagination. Jesus is the mouthpiece for God or the word of God for a return to loving God with all our faculties and making God the center of our lives while not allowing idols, false gods or rituals to become more important than loving God in all with all.

I was never under the Ten Commandments. Sabbath is part of the ten commandments and I never observed the sabbath
Jesus gives us His commands on the sermon on the mount in Matt chapter 5.

I would never discourage people not to follow the 10 commandments as GODS principles. If GODS people followed them out of respect gif the Creator we would not be in this Lucifarian life style and Government Anyone who makes the 10 commandments look trivial is part of the problem. Teach the children the 10 commandments early and they might not turn to the desires of the flesh. REPENT.

Whoever you are, I'm sorry you have been taught worldly teachings that have been crafted by hassan. Jesuha Messiah repeatedly taught that if you love Him, you will obey His commandments. Jeshua repeatedly said that everything He says and He does is what the Father says and does. Every commandment was created for a reason and we are to honor our Father by being obedient to them, as well as the Holy days He appointed for us to celebrate, Lev 23.

Jesus quoted in Matthew 22:37 - 40, where it is stated (not exact words) "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment and a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." Jesus was quoting the Old testament because it was Pharisees and Scribes who are asking what the greatest command is.
These are "command" for us to love God and our neighbor. But as sinners, it is not possible to love God and neighbors because the "Bible says so".
Jesus knows us and gives a "new command" in John 13:34-35, where we read:
"I give a new rule to you. Love each other. You must love each other as I have loved you....."
Our ability to love God and our neighbors comes having relationship with and received His love, so that we can share to love we receive from Him. We must receive before we can give.

The fulfillment of the law, was the ceremonial laws, such as sacrificial , since He was the final sacrifice. As Paul said, does this mean we go ahead a break said commandments? No, James said that if you break one of them, you are guilty of breaking them all. God doesn't change, so why would you think His character, which is the moral law, change?

The Sermon on the Mount is much more meaningful. Tells you WHAT to do, rather than DON’T. This is why white Christian’s Nationalist favorite the the Ten Commandments, and forget about the Beatitudes. Still they violate most of the Ten No No’s

White Christian’s Nationalist favorite the Ten no no’s ??? I don’t read that in the Holy Scriptures? It sounds like an hate statement.
