Chicago confused
The U.S Secret Service formally issued a statement confirming “it was their agents, not Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents that showed up at a Chicago Public School on the city’s South Side.”
The incident happened on Friday, January 24. The media is taking the liberal side of the story.
“These were the first reports of agents turning up at a school after the Trump administration announced this week that it would change immigration enforcement policies to allow arrests at schools, churches and hospitals.” Chicago was already on alert because plans for mass raids in the city leaked ahead of time.
Border Czar Tom Homan was forced to change his timetable around because all the most dangerous felons went into hiding when the news broke.
In the initial misunderstanding, Chicago Public Shools hit the panic button, reporting they denied “entry to ICE agents.” They jumped to that conclusion from the ID cards agents carried. The Secret Service was “investigating a threat made against a government official we protect,” spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed.
The SS agents “identified themselves to the school principal and provided business cards.” Ones which showed they’re with Department of Homeland Security. They are. So is ICE.
Not an immigration raid
The Secret Service was miffed at the mistake. “We do not investigate nor enforce immigration laws.” They didn’t care that Hamline Elementary is in “a predominantly Mexican-American neighborhood” of Chicago. The schools there don’t “ask students for their immigration status and does not coordinate with immigration enforcement agencies.” Actively opposing them is a crime, Border Czar Homan reminded them recently.
Chicago school officials tried to laugh the incident off as a harmless mistake, but it isn’t. It shows how they’re going to respond when ICE really does show up.

“CPS officials explained late Friday that the confusion stemmed from the agents’ presentation of identification from the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees both ICE and the Secret Service.”
Liberal city leaders are defiantly prepared to go to jail defending undocumented foreign invaders.
“While this was a misunderstanding in terms of the specific branch of DHS, the school’s response demonstrates that our system, in partnership with community organizations, is prepared and ready to keep our students and staff safe,” a spokesperson for Chicago Public Schools declares.
