MS-13 Member Sentenced For 7 Brutal Murders

MS-13 Gang Member 7 Brutal Murders

A member of the violent gang MS-13 has pled guilty to seven horrific murders in New York, including the murders of two teen girls.

According to the New York Post, 28-year-old Jairo Saenz was openly smiling in the federal courtroom when he pled guilty to racketeering and numerous other charges related to the murders. Saenz, who is also known by the nickname “Funny,” is facing 40-60 years in prison and will be sentenced on June 13.

The violent criminal admitted that he had given the order to kill two high school girls in 2016, as the gang claimed that the girls had disrespected them on social media. The teens, 16-year-old Kayla Cuevas and 15-year-old Nisa Mickens, were found beaten to death on September 13, 2016. These horrific murders gained national attention, showing the entire country the true nature of the violent gang, which is mostly made up of criminals from El Salvador.

“I came to this country and worked for two years before joining in 13,” Saenz explained in a statement read by his attorney. “I knew MS-13 was a gang back in El Salvador. I know that MS-13 had members in Franklin and Central Islip. We agreed to kill a man.”

He also admitted to ordering the murder of a 15-year-old boy who was hacked to death with a machete because MS-13 believed he was a member of a rival gang. Saenz also admitted to murdering a man at a deli for wearing an “18” jersey, which MS-13 claimed signified a rival gang; as well as the murders of a man they believed was a Bloods gang member, another man suspected of working with the 18th Street gang, another man suspected of being a rival gang member, and a man who MS-13 lured into the woods to smoke marijuana before hacking him to death with knives and machetes.

Saenz’s brother, Alexi, also pled guilty to eight murders back in July, including the murders of the teenage girls. However, Alexi Saenz’s plea deal was contingent on his brother accepting a plea deal as well, which took six months to achieve. Alexi is facing up to 70 years in prison when he is sentenced in late January.

According to prosecutors, the Saenz brothers have been found to have ordered numerous killings using guns, machetes, and even baseball bats in order to build MS-13’s reputation on Long Island.

“Today, Jairo Saenz pleaded guilty to seven murders that can only be described as barbaric, and multiple acts of senseless gang violence that had turned parts of Long Island into a war zone,” Acting US Attorney Carolyn Pokorny explained in a statement.
