View in browser Israel Mourns the Bibas Family   More than 100,000 people lined the streets of Israel on Wednesday to pay their final respects to Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas, the mother and her two young sons who were brutally seized by Hamas on October 7th and horrifically murdered in captivity, with their bodies returned to Israel last week. Islamist Antisemitism Threatens Jewish Communities Worldwide This week saw multiple alarming incidents underscoring the persistent global threat of Islamist extremism: Germany: Authorities arrested a Syrian national who stabbed a victim at Berlin's Holocaust memorial and had planned “to kill Jews.” Germany: An ISIS-linked Russian national was arrested for plot to bomb the Israeli Embassy in Berlin. Turkey: Police arrested an Uzbekistani ISIS operative for planning attacks against synagogues and Jewish schools. BBC Pulls Gaza Documentary This week, the BBC removed a documentary from its streaming platform after it was revealed that its central figure—a 13-year-old boy who narrated the film—was the son of a Hamas official. Barnard College Mayhem Latest Manifestation of Antisemitism Roiling Campuses Worldwide Hundreds of pro-Palestinian students invaded a building at Barnard on Wednesday, demanding the reinstatement of two students suspended for disrupting a class about Israel at Columbia University last month. The students called for an "intifada," a term associated with violence against Israeli Jews. A Barnard employee was assaulted, requiring hospitalization.   In the wake of this troubling incident, CAM will host an emergency "Global Student Summit Against Antisemitism" in New York City on March 22-23. The Missouri House of Representatives Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee held a hearing on Wednesday where a new bill — HB 937 — to address and prohibit antisemitic discrimination in the state’s public K-12 schools and institutions of higher education was presented. The legislation mandates the integration of the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism into student, faculty, and employee codes of conduct. Bolivian lawmaker Laura Rojas Ayala, president of the Santa Cruz Parliamentary Brigade, presented CAM and its Director of Hispanic Affairs Shay Salamon with certificates of appreciation, recognizing CAM’s efforts to combat antisemitism in Latin America.   Since its regional outreach began more than three years ago, CAM en Español has worked diligently to build meaningful partnerships and collaboration with partners across Latin America.
