Pardons Signed With Autopen While Biden Was On Vacation

Multiple pardons supposedly signed by former President Joe Biden throughout his presidency were found to be signed with an autopen while he was on vacation, prompting concerns over who was actually controlling the presidency.

The Oversight Project, a government watchdog nonprofit run by The Heritage Foundation, has sounded the alarm about Biden’s consistent use of an autopen to sign official documents throughout his presidency.

“Whoever controlled the autopen controlled the presidency,” the Oversight Project wrote in a post on X.

“We gathered every document we could find with Biden’s signature over the course of his presidency. All used the same autopen signature except for the the [sic] announcement that the former President was dropping out of the race last year. Here is the autopen signature,” the nonprofit added.

One shocking incident they discovered was that six pardons were signed with the “exact same autopen signature” on December 30, 2022, while Biden was on vacation and golfing in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Note they all say they are ‘Signed in the City of Washington,’” the Oversight Project explained in another post on X.

Looking at more recent documents, the Oversight Project has confirmed that both Hunter Biden’s pardon and Biden’s announcement about ending his reelection bid appear to have been signed by hand.

However, all of Biden’s other controversial pardons — including the sweeping, broad pardons of Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, members of the disgraced January 6 Committee like former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), and other Biden family members — were signed with the same autopen signature, according to Oversight Project chief counsel Kyle Brosnan.

🚨 Autopen Update ðŸš¨

Brosnan told The Daily Wire that the Biden administration’s use of the autopen to sign presidential pardons was especially “troubling” because the authority to issue pardons belongs solely to the president as a “constitutional principle.”

“You have to look at it in the context of President Biden’s mental decline,” Brosnan added, highlighting the fact that former special counsel Robert Hur called Biden an “elderly man with a poor memory” in his report last year.

“I think we all saw with our own eyes his mental and physical deterioration over the course of his presidency,” Brosnan continued. “There’s article after article that comes out showing how the Biden administration and his staff shielded him from public view, retinkered his schedule throughout the presidency, tried to script even what reporters he was calling on at press conferences, and that volume of evidence shows that President Biden wasn’t really running the White House. It was the staff. So if he’s not hand-signing these legally operative documents like pardons or even bills into law, that raises another question.”

Brosnan went on to argue that President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) needs to look into the Biden administration’s autopen policies and determine whether individuals other than Biden were authorized to use the autopen. He also argued that there should be an investigation into the Biden administration’s approval process for affixing a signature.

“We need to figure out who was actually running the country for the last four years,” Brosnan added.
