Resting, Abiding, and Walking: The Inner JourneyIn the indwelling believer, few concepts are as profound and transformative as resting, abiding, and walking through Christ from within. This chapter explores these three interconnected aspects of our faith and their significance in our daily lives. Resting in Christ is about finding peace in His presence, regardless of our circumstances. It’s about trusting in His sovereignty and goodness, even when we don’t understand what’s happening around us. Jesus invites us to this rest in Matthew 11:28, saying, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Abiding in Christ is about remaining connected to Him, like a branch to a vine. It’s about drawing our life, strength, and sustenance from Him. In John 15:4, Jesus tells us, “Abide in me, as I also abide in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in me.” Walking through Christ from within is about living out our faith daily. It’s about allowing Christ to live through us, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions. Galatians 2:20 reminds us, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” This chapter will explore these concepts, their biblical foundations, practical implications, and transformative power. We will also provide practical guidance on how to rest, abide, and walk through Christ from within in our daily lives. As we journey through this chapter, may we be reminded of Jesus' words in Matthew 11:29: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”Listen to the full podcast today. We want to extend our eternal gratitude to each of you for taking the time to read our publications and engage with our posts.
