The Debt Clock Keeps Ticking Louder… And The Schumer Shutdown Doesn’t Care!
There's a tug-of-war between MAGA/DOGE voters and Schumer Shutdown voters... with America on the line

The degree to which Dems actually CARE about the country whose democracy they claim to defend is directly related to how little they care about the consequences of their profligate spending.
In recent years, just the INTEREST on the national debt has been driving the total national debt higher at an ever-accelerating rate. Just in the past few years, we went from $32 Trillion (June 2023), and added another trillion to that total in September ’23, January ’24, July ’24, Nov ’24, August ’25, and most recently crossing the $38T threshold last month.
Here’s a visualization of what we spend our money on:

Here’s a screenshot of the debt clock at the time of writing these words, with two key numbers circled in blue:

Meanwhile, at this exact moment, Democrat Senators are holding a gun to the heads of the American taxpayers. And the election results on Tuesday have only emboldened them.
Dem Senators have written out four demands that, if met, would add another $1.5 Trillion dollars to the annual budget, which is already in deficit spending.
Remember when Elon and his DOGE team were turned loose to look for wasteful spending? They were met with Democrat opposition at every turn. You could hardly name an example of waste fraud or abuse that they would not defend. Even clawing back unspent COVID dollars was a bridge too far for many Democrats.
Chuck Schumer holds the dubious distinction of forcing the two longest government shutdowns in history.
Last time, it was to keep the GOP from passing legislation that would have funded the border wall. He stalled just long enough for Pelosi to get the gavel so that Paul Ryan’s long-delayed budget bill died unsigned. That was always their plan. They play for keeps and aren’t afraid to play dirty… as we saw with their elaborate schemes if trampling a whole variety of civil rights in an orchestrated effort to criminalize a whole whack of elected Republicans. (And Liz Cheney was right in the thick of it.)
This time? It’s looking that Blue State budgets are entirely dependant on the loopholes that lets them bill Congress for medical costs incurred by people whose medical costs cannot ordinarily be paid for by Congress. (The loopholes explicitly closed in the Big Beautiful Bill that Schumer has specifically called for the return to Biden status quo.)
It’s an impasse for which there are no easy answers, with Schumer able to block passage of bills, and a Congress that hasn’t been able to pass a budget using the rules of regular order since 1997… which effectively means that the Senate has robbed the House of its most important legislative power — the power of the purse.
We’re now at the point of contemplating the ‘nuclear option’ of ending the Filibuster. There are strong reasons to support or oppose such a decision, mostly because it gives up the one brake that prevented, for example, an administration as lawless as Biden’s was to turn the whole country into a defacto one-party state.
The obvious counter-argument is that the benevolence Trump showed to people like Hillary Clinton despite the ‘Lock her up’ calls over her emails was not only shown by her Crossfire Hurricane conspiracy to be underestimating how cutthroat and lawless they were, but that kindness was repaid by Merrick Garland’s lackeys with an endless stream of manufactured criminal allegations that routinely violated his civil rights and were designed to destroy both him and his family in every aspect of their lives.
With another Trillion added to the debt every couple of months now, (no thanks to ‘Too Late’ Powell, who kept those lending rates elevated), American politicians are running out of road before even the left is forced to adopt all kinds of ugly austerity measures.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the Soros family tanked an economy so they could make a killing by short-selling. (London,
But, with Democrats dutifully enacting his policy dictates short-selling America could easily result in their biggest score.
Because he’s a ‘philanthropist’, you see.
