The victory of anti-Israel Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani in Tuesday’s New York mayoral election has raised concerns for the future of the city’s Jewish community, the largest in the world outside of Israel.
"If past is prologue, a Mamdani administration will refuse to recognize as antisemitism hate that vilifies and demonizes Jews on the basis of the Jewish people’s connection to Israel," a CAM statement said.
CAM stands with the Jews of New York City and will vigilantly monitor the new administration to ensure it fulfills its duty to protect New Yorkers of all backgrounds and be held accountable if it fails to do so.

Following Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts' defense of conservative commentator Tucker Carlson’s platforming of antisemite Nick Fuentes, and Roberts' own amplification of antisemitic tropes, CAM announced this week the suspension of its membership in the Heritage-led National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism.
