Union Head Trumka: White House Filled With Racists and Wall St. Bankers

Union Head Trumka: White House Filled With Racists and Wall St. Bankers

Well, thugs see ugliness everywhere they look.

Leave it to a thug to see (or rather feign seeing) only ugliness everywhere they look.
According to AFL-CIO head Richard Trumka, President Trump has failed working men and women. Really? They don't seem to think so.
During a breakfast with reporters Wednesday, the union thug also asserted that the White House is filled with racists or Wall St. bankers. Big labor, he assured, will work on converting the rust belt back to voting Democrat come 2018.
'We will get people out who are not interested in voting and get them out," he said.
"You had two factions in the White House," Trumka said.
"You had one faction that actually had some of the policies that we would have supported on trade, on infrastructure, but they turned out to be racist. And on the other hand, you had people who weren’t racist, but they were Wall Streeters. And the Wall Streeters began to dominate the administration and have moved his agenda back to everything he fought against in the election."
Trumka served on the President's business council but quit citing the administration's response to Charlottesville.
The union boss said that Trump’s "response to the white supremacist violence in Charlottesville was the last straw."
Methinks some Democrats rewarded him to abandon ship instead.

Sen. Feinstein Reluctantly Admits Trump ‘Can Be a Good President

“I think we have to have some patience.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein “stunned a San Francisco crowd Tuesday evening,” The Washington Times reported, when she said that President Trump could be a good president if everyone would just employ a little “patience.”
“I think we have to have some patience, I do,” Feinstein told a packed house at a Commonwealth Club event. “It’s eight months into the tenure of the presidency … We’ll have to see if he can forget himself and his feelings about himself enough to be able to have the empathy and direction that this country needs.”
Her lukewarm statement reportedly brought hisses and boos from the audience who would obviously prefer he be impeached.
“This man is going to be president most likely for the rest of this term,” Feinstein said. “I just hope he has the ability to learn and change. If he does, he can be a good president.”
In regard to some of the plans the president has proposed, the California Democrat suggested that the hurricane and flooding in Texas was going to take priority over Trump’s proposed border wall. In matters of race in the country, Feinstein said Trump placated white supremacists and the KKK with his Charlottesville statement.
When she was asked what her plans were over the next five to ten years, the senator ducked and said, “Next question.”
Feinstein is up for reelection next year if she so chooses. And why wouldn’t she after five terms already?

Professor Wears Bulletproof Vest to Class to Protest Campus Carry Law That was the safest he’s ever been in his life!

Professor Wears Bulletproof Vest to Class to Protest Campus Carry Law

That was the safest he’s ever been in his life!

University of Kansas film and media professor and American film director Kevin Willmott made a statement on the school’s campus carry law by wearing a bulletproof vest on the first day of classes. He did it to protest that students can now carry concealed weapons on campus if they are over the age of 21.
Willmott sent a note to his students that read, “Try to forget that I’m wearing a vest, and I’ll try to forget that you could be packing a .44 magnum.”
He also said, “The disturbing part of the policy for me is that it is concealed. It’s kind of a don’t ask, don’t tell kind of a policy, and so, you’re just kind of expected to forget that they’re probably there. And in that sense, you’re kind of living in a lie.”
Willmott, best known for his 2004 mockumentary C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America which imagined the country after the Confederacy won the Civil War, believes there’s a subtle connection between the campus carry policy and old segregation laws, asThe University Daily Kansan reported:
When doing research for his film “Jayhawkers,” which tells the story of Kansas basketball player Wilt Chamberlain, Willmott said the people he spoke to often had no knowledge of the racial segregation taking place around them.
He said that instead of large signs, businesses would opt for smaller signs that went unnoticed.
“And that’s what this policy is all about,” Willmott said. “They don’t want it to be visible, because if it was visible, if everybody was walking around with a bulletproof vest on, people would say, ‘Oh my God, is this a warzone? What’s going on here?’ And yes, it is a warzone. No one’s started shooting yet. Yet. But we don’t know how many people have guns.”
In fact, Willmott believes guns on campus will actually hinder free speech. One of his students agrees: “I can see the reasoning for wanting to carry one. But I just don’t think that a place that promotes free speech should have guns. That would definitely affect someone’s willingness to talk, especially if they have an opinion that might be unpopular.”
Willmott added, after meeting with a Muslim professor:
“Students are scared, professors are scared. I think even the administration is frustrated and feeling a little helpless right now. And so, for me, the vest becomes a way for this invisible gun to be exposed.”
The professor said things like depression can affect a student’s outlook like it did for him in college when his father died.
“And if a gun is then involved, those things can lead to tragedies,” he added.
Willmott says he feels like he’s living in “this kind of crazy satire” where there are guns in the classroom. And because of that, he plans on wearing the vest for at least the entire year.
One thing’s for sure, Professor Willmott will be the safest guy on the campus. He has a security detail and a vest for added protection.

Obama Named Most Expensive Ex-President Ever And that doesn’t include Secret Service protections.

Obama Named Most Expensive Ex-President Ever

And that doesn’t include Secret Service protections.

Taxpayers will hand over $1,153,000 next year to Barack Obama to help cover his post-presidency expenses, according to the numbers from the Congressional Research Service. That will make him the most expensive ex-president to date.
The Washington Times explains what’s going on:
Every former president gets an office, expenses and, in some cases, an annual pension payment, thanks to a 1950s-era law enacted after former President Truman struggled for income when he left the White House in 1953.
While most ex-presidents since Truman have found ways to make their life beyond the Oval Office financially rewarding, the taxpayer-funded perks have remained — and Mr. Obama is the latest to take them.
The book deals alone should be more than enough to cover everything their hearts desire, but free money is free money.
Obama’s budget request for 2018 is over $100,000 higher than his predecessor, George W. Bush, The Times notes. It’s almost $200,000 more than what former President Clinton will get. President George H.W. Bush will get $942,000 and Jimmy Carter still gets a good piece of the pie at $456,000.
The Times report adds:
By far the biggest cost for ex-presidents is renting office space. Mr. Obama’s office — 8,198 square feet in D.C. — will cost taxpayers $536,000 next year, the most of any ex-president. Mr. Clinton’s New York office is bigger, at 8,300 square feet, but slightly cheaper at $518,000. The younger Mr. Bush’s office in Dallas is $497,000, while his father’s space in Houston is $286,000. Mr. Carter’s Atlanta office is just $115,000.
Obama also tops the pension payment category with $236,000. Clinton claims second place, getting $231,000 -- because Lord knows, the Clintons need more money. Remember how they left the White House flat broke??
The only category Obama doesn’t “win” is with his communications budget which is only $11,000, compared to George W’s nearly $70,000.
None of these figures include each former president’s Secret Service detail. Those are kept private, but likely cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.
The award for sneakiest perk goes to President Carter, which The Times has kept a close eye on:
Because of an arrangement he struck to turn his home over to the National Park Service when he dies, taxpayers do upkeep on his house in Plains, Georgia, The Washington Times reported in 2011. In 2010, that cost came to $67,841, and included sweeping his tennis court twice a day, clearing branches from the estate’s walking trails, and cleaning the pool.

Mark Ruffalo Will March From Charlottesville to D.C. to Protest Trump

"To confront white supremacy."

Aside from his pro-abortion activism, actor Mark Ruffalo will now be marching from Charlottesville, Virginia, to Washington, DC., in an organized ten-day “March to Confront White Supremacy.”
“Heading to Culpepper. Marching 18 miles today alongside these beautiful people,” Ruffalo wrote on Twitter. “We the people have the power.”
“Marching into Trump Country to confront white supremacy,” the actor later wrote in an Instagram post.
From Breitbart
The Cville 2 DC March is in response to the violence that broke out in Charlottesville, Virginia, during a “Unite the Right” white nationalist protest this month. The protests culminated in the death of 32-year-old Heather Heyer. President Trump repeatedly condemned the white supremacist protesters and the “egregious display of hatred” and violence that broke out in Charlottesville.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that the Department of Justice had “commenced a federal investigation” into the rally and the actions of James Fields Jr., the driver of the car attack that killed Heyer and injured at least 16 others.
In a lengthy message posted to his Twitter account, Ruffalo said he's “marching because a central demand of this march is for Donald Trump to be removed from office following his statement supporting white supremacists and neo-Nazis.”
The Cville 2 DC March was organized by the People’s Consortium for Human and Civil Rights, who call for Trump’s removal from office.
“This is the time for us to stand up for justice and equality. This is the time to confront white supremacy in our government and throughout our history,” the organizers’ website reads. “We demand that President Trump to be removed from office for allying himself with this ideology of hate and we demand an agenda that repairs the damage it’s done to our country and its people.”

NYT Urges Obama to Stay Quiet So Trump Can Fail on His Own

NYT Urges Obama to Stay Quiet So Trump Can Fail on His Own

"The opposition to Trump is doing pretty well."

New York Times op-ed columnist David Leonhardt is quite happy that Barack Obama is remaining largely silent on politics right now. That’s because “the opposition to Trump is doing pretty well,” he says, and Obama saying too much could jeopardize that progress.
Leonhardt pointed to a recent NYT article written by Caroline Randall Williams in which she urged the former president to speak out more against Trump: “We need your voice. There is not a saner, more trustworthy opinion that many of us would rather hear.”
However, Leonhardt isn’t quite on board with that. He found an article in The Daily Beast which convinced him that Obama needs to keep his mouth shut:
Jamil Smith disagreed. Hearing from Obama more often may well offer relief to progressives. But Smith argues — persuasively, to my mind — that a more talkative Obama would hurt the causes that matter to Obama and his allies.
A higher-profile Obama would help drive Republicans and some independents back into Trump’s corner, given that many of them don’t like the former president. Even as president, Obama came to understand this dynamic and sometimes, rather than inserting himself into an issue and polarizing it, he held back.
With glee, Leonhardt added:
Remember: The opposition to Trump is doing pretty well. He is struggling, with a record-low approval rating and frequent criticism from his own party (and even his own appointees).
In the Beast article, Smith argued that Obama “largely stayed out of the way as an insurgent movement took hold amongst voters of every stripe.”
“I never in my life thought I’d see white Republican voters in Arkansas passionately defend Obamacare to their senator, but it happened,” Smith continued.
To that end, Leonhardt encouraged any voices within the Democratic Party to speak up, just not Obama.
“The party needs new voices,” Leonhardt said, “including some who may one day run for the office Obama once occupied.”
Not that the NYT is choosing sides or anything.
