Evidence of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett’s strong pro-life convictions is growing.

The Daily Beast reports Barrett, a judge on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, signed an open letter in 2006 that described abortion as “barbaric” and called for an end to Roe v. Wade.

Barrett is President Donald Trump’s choice to fill the seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died in September. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, she would solidify a strong 6-3 conservative majority on the high court.

Pro-life advocates hope and abortion activists fear that Barrett could lead to the undoing of Roe v. Wade and help restore protections for unborn babies. And, based on the letter and other past statements, those hopes are growing.

The letter that she signed was a 2006 newspaper advertisement sponsored by St. Joseph County Right to Life in South Bend, Indiana.

“The Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion for any reason,” the ad states. “Now, after more than thirty-two years under Roe more than 47 million unborn children have been aborted. … It’s time to put an end to the barbaric legacy of Roe v. Wade and restore laws that protect the lives of unborn children.”

The ad also displayed hundreds of signatures from Indiana residents, including Barrett’s, along with the statement, “We, the following citizens of Michiana, oppose abortion on demand and defend the right to life from fertilization to natural death.”

At the time, Barrett was law professor at the University of Notre Dame.

A devout Catholic and mother of seven, Barrett is a former clerk of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Like Scalia, she has been described as an “originalist” judge. Though her judicial rulings on abortion are few, she did rule in support of two Indiana pro-life laws during her time on the Seventh Circuit.

Barrett was a member of the Notre Dame University Faculty for Life Group from 2010 to 2016, and she received an award from the Thomas More Society, a pro-life Catholic legal group, in 2018.

She also has made several statements about the value of babies in the womb. According to the Law and Crime blog, Barrett signed a public letter in 2015 that emphasized “the value of human life from conception to natural death.” She also said she believes that life begins at conception.

According to a recent analysis by the Law and Crime blog, Barrett’s statements and writings about Supreme Court abortion cases as well as stare decisis, which means sticking to past legal precedents, also suggest that she may rule to restore protections for unborn babies.

Pro-life leaders have praised Barrett as an excellent choice for the court.

The U.S. Senate scheduled her confirmation hearing for Oct. 12.

Kamala Harris Opposes Amy Coney Barrett: “It’s Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Seat, She Would Destroy Roe”

NATIONAL   MICAIAH BILGER   OCT 1, 2020   |   9:57AM    WASHINGTON, DC

Democrat vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris lashed out against President Donald Trump and his U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett over the weekend because they could restore protections for unborn babies in America.

National Catholic Register reports Harris, a pro-abortion senator from California, said she will “strongly oppose” Barrett’s confirmation to high court.

“Trump’s hand-picked successor to Justice Ginsburg’s seat makes it clear: they intend to destroy the Affordable Care Act & overturn Roe. This selection would move the court further right for a generation & harm millions of Americans,” she wrote on Twitter.

Last week, Trump named Barrett as his choice to fill the seat of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a heroine of abortion activists. Many have praised Barrett as a “brilliant and gifted” lawyer who will uphold the Constitution and not legislate from the bench.

A Notre Dame law professor and judge on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Barrett is Catholic, conservative and pro-life. If confirmed, pro-life advocates hope and abortion activists fear that she could lead to the undoing of Roe v. Wade and help restore protections for unborn babies.

In a statement last week, Harris said it would be an insult to Ginsburg’s legacy to appoint a conservative woman to the court.

“Just yesterday, I paid my respects to the legendary Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who devoted her life to fighting for Equal Justice Under Law and a more fair and just world. Her passing is devastating, and it would be a travesty to replace her with a justice who is being selected to undo her legacy and erase everything she did for our country …” she said.

Harris said the future of “reproductive health options,” meaning abortion on demand, is at stake, and she will fight to keep Barrett off the court.

But Joe Schaeffer at Liberty Nation predicted that there may be trouble for Harris at Barrett’s confirmation hearings. Unlike during the 2018 hearings on Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Harris now has to consider how her performance could affect her presidential running mate, Joe Biden, and her vicious, combative style has not resonated well with voters.

“Her performance at the Kavanaugh hearings in 2018 was at times a mystifying display. In all-out stern lawyer mode, Harris attempted to pin down a befuddled Kavanaugh on vague assertions that he may have possibly had conversations with unspecified persons at unstated times,” Schaeffer wrote. “… But in the end, she appeared to be a paper tiger with no substance behind the roar.

Later, he added: “A potential nightmare now threatens to befall Scranton Joe. Perhaps he should have given much more consideration before tabbing as his VP pick a political provocateur with a love of the spotlight.”

The Senate hearing on Barrett’s confirmation is scheduled for Oct. 12.

Abortion activists and their allies in the Democratic Party are trying to insist that the U.S. Senate delay any Supreme Court confirmation until 2021. They hope Biden will win and fill the seat with another leftist, pro-abortion judge who will keep the killing of unborn babies in abortions legal for decades to come.

Because of Roe, America is one of only seven countries in the world that allows elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Since it was handed down in 1973, about 62 million unborn babies have been killed in abortions.

For decades, pro-lifers have been working in numerous ways to protect unborn babies, support mothers and fathers and end abortions through elections, education, charity support and other efforts. The U.S. Supreme Court has been a focal point, and pro-lifers have renewed hope that the rights of unborn babies may be restored.

Barrett’s voice would be a welcome change to the liberal, pro-abortion female justices on the court. Ginsburg especially was idolized by abortion activists for repeatedly ruling against pro-life laws. Though abortion is considered a “woman’s issue,” polls consistently show that many women are strongly pro-life and a majority want the law to protect unborn babies from abortion, at least in some circumstances.

Pro-life leaders have praised Barrett as an excellent choice for the court.

Barrett is a former clerk of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Like Scalia, she has been described as an “originalist” judge. Though her judicial rulings on abortion are few, she did rule in support of two Indiana pro-life laws during her time on the Seventh Circuit.

She also has made several statements about the value of babies in the womb. According to the Law and Crime blog, Barrett signed a public letter in 2015 that emphasized “the value of human life from conception to natural death.” She also said she believes that life begins at conception.

President Trump Condemns Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome: They “Deserve Love”

NATIONAL   STEVEN ERTELT   OCT 1, 2020   |   6:18PM    WASHINGTON, DC

President Donald Trump issued a powerful message this week about the value of individuals with Down syndrome in America.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and an estimate 250,000 Americans have the chromosomal abnormality. Some go to college, while others own businesses and work as models, actors and artists. Some get married, and many serve as advocates and spokespeople for people with disabilities.

But even more would be alive today if they had not been discriminatorily aborted — something President Trump condemned in his message today.

“As our society progresses toward a more inclusive future, there are still those who pass judgment on which lives are worth living.  As President, I denounce radical proposals to terminate pregnancies of unborn children with Down syndrome,” he said. “Our Nation will continue to emphatically affirm the self-evident ideal that all children—born and unborn—are created in the image of God, are worthy of life, and deserve to be loved.”

“Our country must never run astray from the certitude that the lives of those with Down syndrome are precious and full of potential.  During Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we are reminded that we must never waver in our efforts to support these individuals so that they can enrich the soul of our Nation with their joy and love,” he added.

The president continued:

In the United States, around 6,000 babies are born with Down syndrome every year.  These treasured members of our society are sources of inspiration to the many families and communities graced by their lives.  Those living with Down syndrome face unique challenges, reminding us every day that it is incumbent upon us as a Nation, to continue empowering them to reach their full potential.  Throughout this Down Syndrome Awareness Month, the First Lady and I celebrate these remarkable people, members of our families, communities, and Nation, and my Administration reasserts its commitment to standing against those who seek to discriminate, devalue, and demean the sanctity of their lives.

The future for Americans with Down syndrome is more exciting and more hopeful than ever before, as we continue cutting edge research and develop therapies.  In 2019, the National Institutes of Health invested $35 million toward more advanced Down syndrome research.  In September 2020, an additional $60 million was dedicated to bolster funding for Downs syndrome research.  These funds will lead to scientific breakthroughs and broaden our understanding of Down syndrome so that we can more effectively improve the health of these American citizens and expand their opportunities to thrive in our society.

Unborn babies with Down syndrome and other disabilities are discriminated against at alarming rates. Parents whose unborn babies have disabilities frequently report feeling pressure to abort them by doctors and genetic counselors. Many have described this horrible trend as modern eugenics.

A recent CBS News report shocked the nation with its exposure of the discriminatory abortion trend. According to the report, nearly 100 percent of unborn babies who test positive for Down syndrome are aborted in Iceland. The rate in France was 77 percent in 2015, 90 percent in the United Kingdom and 67 percent in the United States between 1995 and 2011, according to CBS.

Some put the rate as high as 90 percent in the United States, but it is difficult to determine the exact number because the U.S. government does not keep detailed statistics about abortion.

Joe Biden Runs Ads Trying to Trick Christians Into Voting for Him, But He Supports Abortion NATIONAL STEVEN ERTELT OCT 1, 2020 | 1:45PM WASHINGTON, DC

Joe Biden Runs Ads Trying to Trick Christians Into Voting for Him, But He Supports Abortion

NATIONAL   STEVEN ERTELT   OCT 1, 2020   |   1:45PM    WASHINGTON, DC

Joe Biden’s campaign is running a large television ad buy trying to trick Christians  into voting for him despite the fact that she supports abortion on demand funded at taxpayer expense.

Although Biden would force Christians to fund killing babies in abortions with their tax dollars, his campaign seems to be somehow he is the “moral” choice for president.

“We are running these ads to highlight to faith-motivated voters that Joe Biden is the clear moral choice in this election,” Josh Dickson, the Biden campaign’s faith engagement director, told Religion News Service in a statement. “Religious voters matter to this campaign and are a key part of our broad, diverse, and robust coalition.”

The seven-figure ad buy includes two 30-second television spots that will run on Catholic and evangelical programs. The first is called “Principles” and features Biden in conversation with the Rev. Matt Malone, editor-in-chief of America magazine, a Catholic publication.

The second ad, titled “Morning,” is geared toward evangelical Christian television programs. It details how Biden’s faith has given him strength during times of grief.

The third ad, which will run on Christian radio stations, features a member of Biden’s Catholic parish describing when she saw Biden in Mass and insisting she believes him to be a “man guided by faith.”

“You can tell how important Joe’s faith is to him,” the parishioner, Bernadette, says in the minute-long segment.

SIGN THE PLEDGE: We Can’t Vote for Pro-Abortion Joe Biden

But Biden doesn’t have a leg to stand on with Christian voters. Just this week, during the first presidential debate, Biden supported the Supreme Court decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions up to birth.

That Biden would stand for the Supreme Court decision that resulted in killing 62 million babies in abortions is not surprising. Biden seems to be deaf to their cries as he calls abortion “reproductive health care” and telling Planned Parenthood he will “do everything in my power” to make sure abortion stays legal up to birth. It’s clear he doesn’t apply any of his Catholic faith to abortion.

Biden thinks that killing babies in abortions is a right and that abortions should be funded in every state with federal taxpayer dollars. Although he euphemistically calls abortion health care, at the time he endorsed forcing taxpayer to fund abortions last year, Biden said: “If I believe health care is a right, as I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s ZIP code.”

“We will protect women’s constitutional right to choose, and I am proud to stand with you in this fight,” Biden added, using another euphemism for killing babies in abortions.

Biden has a strong pro-abortion voting record that goes back for many years, and he supported President Barack Obama’s leadership as the most pro-abortion president in U.S. history. What’s more, pro-abortion movement leaders say they “trust” Biden to protect abortion on demand. As the vice president, he supported the administration’s pro-abortion policies, including Obamacare, which forced religious employers to pay for drugs that may cause abortions.

From 2001 to 2008, Biden’s voting record on pro-life issues was close to zero, according to the National Right to Life Committee. In 2005, for example, he voted against the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits funding to overseas groups that promote and/or perform abortions. He also voted repeatedly to require that military service members’ abortions be covered by taxpayer dollars.

To show how far Biden has come toward the pro-abortion view, he once likened an abortion to an operation — as if taking the life of a baby before birth is somehow beneficial in the same manner as a patient’s operation.

Biden said: “Maybe where Romney is most sketchy is on women’s rights. I got a daughter and lost a daughter. I’ve got four granddaughters and Barack has two daughters. And this is to our core. Our daughters and our granddaughters are entitled to every single solitary operation, every single solitary opportunity!”

Meanwhile, President Trump has the support of pro-life groups, which represent the majority of Americans on abortion.
