Disgraced Democrat Mayor Announces Crackdown On AOC’s ‘Red Light District’
NYC Mayor Eric Adams has announced a crackdown on the prostitute-ridden borough of Queens, including raids on brothels in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) “red light” district.
Just one block of Roosevelt Avenue contains at least 19 alleged prostitutes, according to Fox News, whose camera crew witnessed at least seven more prostitutes around the corner, including a woman offering sex for just $60.
New York City’s sex trafficking crisis prompted at least 200 people to show up to the Rescue Roosevelt Avenue rally on the border of the Jackson Heights and Elmhurst neighborhoods — an area heavily populated by illegal aliens — on October 6.
The rally, organized by the advocacy group “Let’s Improve Roosevelt Ave,” was headlined by NYC politicians like Council Member Hiram Monserrate (D) and Marty Dolan, who previously challenged Ocasio-Cortez in the Democrat primary.
“Our community is sick and tired of the level of criminal activity that’s happening right here,” Monserrate said in a speech during the event. “Roosevelt Avenue is not a dumping ground. Roosevelt Avenue is a commercial corridor where hundreds of millions of dollars are expended yearly. This community deserves better. We should be able to walk out on the street and be safe.”
Roosevelt Avenue is located in New York’s Fourteenth Congressional District, which is represented by Ocasio-Cortez. Despite facing a sex trafficking crisis, the street has not received any help from the Democrat congresswoman.
Adams finally started speaking out against the sex trafficking crisis in his city in 2023 after reports revealed that illegal alien prostitutes had been trying to solicit children as they walked home from school, according to Breitbart News.
The NYC mayor admitted that the “illegal” activities are happening on the two-mile stretch of Roosevelt Avenue, and acknowledged that the majority of these prostitutes were female Venezuelan illegal aliens.
“This is where idealism collides with realism… I’ve had elected officials tell me that the women are just trying [sic] work – ‘why are you trying to harm them?’ – [but] there are real issues around illegal sex work, from STDs to sex trafficking girls to violence,” Adams said, according to The Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, the group “Let’s Improve Roosevelt Avenue” explained in a letter to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) that the street currently has “more brothels than bodegas,” according to the New York Post, so it is clear that this is a serious problem that Adams needs to solve, as it has been reported by local residents that these brothels — many of which are located near schools — just reopen as soon as the police leave.
On Tuesday, Adams announced the launch of “Operation Restore Roosevelt” — which plans to crack down on prostitutes over the next 90 days.
“We will end sex trafficking in this area. We are not here for one day and go away. We’re here for the problem to go away,” Adams said during a press conference.
“To tackle these issues, we are launching a multi-agency operation that brings together more than a dozen city agencies with state partners to make sure crime and quality-of-life issues are addressed,” he added. “Our administration has a clear mission: to make New York a safer, more affordable city, and we will not rest until we have accomplished that mission.”
