A Prayer to Find Joy in Caring for Others
By Lynette Kittle

Bible Reading:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds” - James 1:2

Caring for others can be satisfying and rewarding, while also being emotionally and physically difficult and exhausting, too. Yet, whether we’re parents caring for children, or a spouse caring for a husband or wife, or an adult child caring for a parent, there is much to find joy in. Still, even on good days, caring for others can be tiring, especially on challenging days when we feel stretched to the limits, like we’re operating on automatic mode and barely making it through the day.

As Christians, God is with us to help us. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, “For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”

However, preparing meals, keeping up with laundry, and caring for personal needs and possible medical issues is a daunting task for any person, especially if caring 24/7 for a loved one. As well, often caregivers find themselves feeling ill-prepared or unequipped to take on the responsibility.

So through it all, how do caregivers find joy when feeling on the brink of collapse? Following are five ways God helps us to experience joy in the midst of caring for others.

1. God Provides Us with Refreshment and Satisfaction
God assures us in Jeremiah 31:25 that “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”
So when we’re going 24/7 as a caregiver, especially when days and nights seem endless and non-stop with no breaks in sight, we can turn to God and trust Him to refresh and satisfy us in our weariness. As those who offer care understand, it’s not for the faint of heart, and doing it takes us on our own spiritual journey, where hopefully, we grow in grace and learn while walking through its’ unknowns as we attempt to nurture, direct, and help others through their journeys of dealing with their own wills, challenges, and spiritual growth.

2. God Offers Us Relief
1 Peter 5:7 urges, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
We weren’t ever created to carry all the responsibility that comes in caring for others by ourselves. God understands the weight of it, and because He does, He stretches out His arms towards us, saying, “Give it all to Me.”

3. God Gives Us Rest
Jesus calls out to us, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
God’s arms are reaching out to us, calling us to draw nearer to Him, not expecting us to be able to carry it on our own or figure it all out by ourselves. He offers us rest from the weariness that comes in being an around-the-clock caregiver, and we can run to Him like a little child who lays their head on their parent’s lap for rest.

4. God Calms Our Fears
Lamentations 3:57 describes how, “You came near when I called You, and You said, ‘Do not fear.’”
Caregivers often face their own fears and insecurities, often unknown to themselves until they encounter them hiding deep within, surprising them at unexpected and uninvited moments, exposing the worst and the best in them all at the same time. During fearful times, we can call on God and know He will come near and free us from our fears.

5. God Lets Us Lean on Him
With God, we don’t have to have all the answers ourselves. As Proverbs 3:5 urges, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
In looking to Him, God will lead and guide us in making critical and practical caregiving decisions, available to help us and keeping us from wearing ourselves out trying to figure out what to do next. As Jesus describes in John 14:26, the Holy Spirit is available 24/7: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Let’s Pray:

Dear Father,
With sincere hearts, we thank You for the opportunities You give us in this life to care for others and for the many blessings it brings to our hearts in doing so. Fill us with Your joy, we ask, as we take care of those who need our love, attention, and assistance. Help us to turn to You for refreshment and to satisfy our hearts, finding relief and rest in You. Teach us to turn to You when fearful thoughts try to overcome us and show us how to lean on You for guidance in all that we do as caregivers.
In Jesus’ Name, amen.

School Staff Watched, Forced Girls To Change In Front Of Boy by Anastasia Boushee March 20, 2025

School Staff Watched, Forced Girls To Change In Front Of Boy

After female students refused to change in front of a male “transgender” student at an Illinois school, school staff forced them to do so.

During a Deerfield School District 109 School Board meeting, Nicole Georgas explained how her 13-year-old daughter and other female students at Shepard Middle School were forced to change their clothes in a locker room while a male student claiming to be “transgender” watched.

Georgas noted that her daughter had initially come home upset on February 5 after a boy began using the girls’ bathroom. The school administrators responded to the girl’s concerns by citing the school’s “inclusive” bathroom policy, stating that the boy was allowed to use the girls’ locker room and bathroom because he believes he is a girl.

The mother responded to the school administrators by citing President Donald Trump’s executive order barring males from using female bathrooms and locker rooms, and from participating in girls’ sports. Despite Georgas warning the school that they were violating that order, the school refused to back down, citing the school district’s legal counsel.

Georgas stated that, following this argument, “the situation went from bad to worse.”

“A few days later, the male student was present in the girl’s locker room. Feeling violated, the girls made the choice not to change into their PE clothes with the biological male student present,” she explained.

Instead of respecting these girls’ bodily autonomy and trying to find a solution, the girls were effectively barricaded inside the locker room, with school administrators standing inside the locker room and forcing the girls to change their clothes in front of the male student. According to Georgas, the employees who forced the girls to change in front of the boy were the district’s assistant superintendent for student services, the school’s assistant principal, and the director for student services. All of these administrators are female.

“The girls just want their privacy and they want their locker room back,” Georgas said. “There are gender neutral options. This is my daughter’s story, and the story of many other young girls who have been forced at the difficult age to do something they know — and most adults know — is wrong.”

Of course, the radical transgender activists in attendance at the school board meeting booed Georgas while she was speaking. One of the activists was a transgender-identifying parent who also happens to have a so-called “transgender child” — who claimed that all of the girls should have to find a different place to change their clothes if they are uncomfortable, effectively kicking them out of their own space to accommodate one mentally ill individual.

“The discomfort or privacy concerns of other students, teachers, or parents are not valid reasons to deny or limit the full and equal use of those facilities based on a student’s gender-related identity,” the activist, who serves as the director of operations for Trans Up Front, said during the meeting. “Instead, any student, teacher or other individuals seeking more privacy should be accommodated by providing that individual with a more private option.”

Maxine Waters was steaming mad after a Trump official gave her this reality check

Mar 19, 2025

Maxine Waters is having a bad time with Donald Trump back in office.

Her big mouth keeps getting her into trouble.

And Maxine Waters was steaming mad after a Trump official gave this reality check.

Maxine Waters accuses Trump of trying to start a second Civil War

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) is well known for her decades of inflammatory comments.

President Donald Trump’s second term in office is pushing her over the edge.

Waters ranted about Trump pushing the country toward a civil war because of cuts to government spending at a Congressional Black Caucus retreat.

“I’m worried that Trump is on the edge of creating a civil war,” Waters said. “He alluded to it more than once.”

She predicted that trying to save the country from bankruptcy would cause riots in the streets.

“This President is putting us in a position where hungry people are going to be on the streets,” Waters ranted. “Where nonprofits, who were waiting for their checks, are not going to get them. Where seniors waiting for their Social Security check, will not get it. Where poor families with children will not get what they believe the government has agreed to do.”

This was Trump’s master plan to lead the country into a civil war, according to Waters.

Waters found herself in hot water during Trump’s first term when she told Democrats to get in the faces of Trump officials in public.

Trump official blasts Maxine Waters after her latest unhinged rant

White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields said that it was time for the 86-year-old Waters to retire during an appearance on Fox Business.

“Maxine Waters is another good reason why we need term limits. This is a woman that entered Congress before I was even born. At 86 years old, she is still spewing the same crazy stuff that she spewed over 30 years ago,” Fields explained. “Maxine Waters is not a credible voice.”

Fields noted that Waters making unhinged remarks was par for the course.

“She was the same Maxine Waters that a couple of years ago was telling people to hit the streets, get in the faces of Republicans, and yell and scream and carry on,” Fields said. “She’s not a serious woman. She is an agitator who is not becoming of a congresswoman. No one should take her seriously. Hopefully she will retire because the U.S. Capitol will be a whole lot better without her in it.”

Host Elizabeth MacDonald cited polling that found that Democrats’ popularity is in the tank and said the party was in disarray.

“They’re still scratching their heads on how they lost,” Fields stated. “These people are engaging in violence, and they’re engaging in illegal protests that should not be tolerated. When you become a threat to society in the name of protesting, you are now a criminal, and you will be taken care of under this Department of Justice.”

Waters has accused Trump of trying to incite another civil war multiple times during her long-running feud with the President.

She is in for a long four years with Trump back in the White House.

Trump Admin Investigating 50+ Universities by Anastasia Boushee March 20, 2025

Trump Admin Investigating 50+ Universities

The Trump administration has launched investigations into more than 50 universities over anti-white and anti-Asian discrimination caused by their so-called “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) policies.

President Donald Trump’s Department of Education made the announcement on March 14, revealing that the decision was made after universities ignored an order to end their DEI programs or risk losing federal funding.

Education Secretary Linda McMahon noted in a statement that students deserve to be “assessed according to merit and accomplishment, not prejudged by the color of their skin.”

“We will not yield on this commitment,” she vowed.

There are a total of 52 universities being investigated, with 45 of them being specifically scrutinized over their involvement with a radical group called the PhD Project. The Department of Education described the group as “an organization that purports to provide doctoral students with insights into obtaining a Ph.D. and networking opportunities, but limits eligibility based on the race of participants.”

The universities under investigation for their partnership with the PhD Project include Yale, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, New York University, Notre Dame, Boise State, Clemson, Cornell, Duke, and Georgetown.

Six of the 52 universities are under investigation for awarding “impermissible race-based scholarships,” according to the Department of Education, while one other university is being investigated for hosting “a program that segregates students on the basis of race.”

The investigations come soon after the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights issued a memo calling out educational institutions for engaging in discrimination against white and Asian students under the banner of DEI.

“American educational institutions have discriminated against students on the basis of race, including white and Asian students, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds and low-income families,” Craig Trainor, the Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, wrote in the memo. “Proponents of these discriminatory practices have attempted to further justify them—particularly during the last four years—under the banner of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (“DEI”), smuggling racial stereotypes and explicit race-consciousness into everyday training, programming, and discipline.”
