TONIGHT'S SCRIPTURE

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” - Ephesians 4:30

SOMETHING TO PONDER

God urges us to not grieve the Holy Spirit, but how do we know if we are grieving Him? Are there signs or signals to let us know? How are we able to tell when we are? As Ephesians 1:13 explains, once we accept Christ as our Savior, we receive the Holy Spirit.

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.”

Still, many of us are clueless when it comes to knowing whether or not we are grieving Him, unaware of what we might be doing to cause grief and sorrow, seeming so unclear to us what that might look like. The following are ways we may be grieving Him, such as not caring for our bodies. Being careless with our bodies by putting hurtful substances into them or through sexual immorality grieves the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19 reminds us,

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.”

Once we receive Christ, we belong to Him, not the enemy, and certainly not to ourselves. If we’re being led and influenced more by the world’s lifestyles in how we care for our bodies than by living a godly lifestyle, we are grieving the Holy Spirit. As well, if we’re living to satisfy our own desires over God’s desires for our lives, we can be assured that we’re grieving the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul in Romans 13:14 urges,

“Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”

If we’re not sure of the difference between living for ourselves and living for God, we can find direction by reading and studying God’s word, which, through it, will direct, teach, and remind us of the things that please God. As John 14:26 explains,

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

Also, if we’re lacking in our love towards others, we are grieving the Holy Spirit. As Galatians 5:22 describes how love is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

Another indication is if we are rejecting the Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives. When we’re cautioned or directed to resist or turn away from various thoughts, words, and actions, we have a choice whether or not to follow the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Resisting following the Holy Spirit’s voice leads to a hardening of our hearts. As Hebrews 3:7-8 reminds us, “So, as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness.’”

YOUR NIGHTLY PRAYER

Dear Father,
Forgive us for the ways we grieve Your Holy Spirit. Lead us in taking care of our bodies as Your temple. Free us from chasing after our own desires and pleasures. Teach us to love one another and attune our ears to hear and follow Your Holy Spirit’s leading in our lives. Cleanse our hearts and minds, and flush out our deaf ears to hear His voice and follow His leading. Rid our hearts of the hardness that we’ve allowed to build up in our lives, and renew our minds to listen and follow His ways. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON

1. Are there ways that come to mind of how you may be grieving the Holy Spirit? If so, take time to consider and bring them before the Lord in repentance.

2. In reviewing the ways to grieve the Holy Spirit, are you able to recall times when He was speaking to you in each of these areas? Did you follow His leading or choose your own way?

3. Are there specific times and instances where you remember His gentle leading and you did follow His voice? If so, what were the outcomes?

Pam Bondi Witnesses the Dark Science Behind America’s Fentanyl Flood

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s recent visit to the DEA’s Northern Virginia research lab has revealed alarming insights into the fentanyl crisis threatening American communities. Bondi’s visit highlighted the Trump administration’s commitment to combating the illicit flow of fentanyl. How have drug cartels been able to produce fentanyl at this scale?

Inside the DEA’s Critical Fentanyl Research Lab

Attorney General Pam Bondi received a stark education on America’s fentanyl crisis during her visit to the DEA’s specialized research facility in Northern Virginia. The tour, conducted on April 29 as part of National Fentanyl Awareness Day, provided Bondi with firsthand exposure to the only federal laboratory in the United States providing comprehensive analysis of ingredients involved in fentanyl trafficking.

Senior DEA research chemist David Guthrie explained their crucial mission to Bondi: “We are trying to reverse engineer what the cartels are doing at any given time. Whenever something new shows up, it’s our job to figure out how that got in there. Did they change the recipe? Are they using a new compound?”

Alarming Production Capabilities Revealed

The visit exposed the frightening efficiency with which cartels can produce deadly synthetic opioids on an industrial scale. Bondi witnessed a demonstration of a seized pill press capable of producing 15,000 pills per hour, prompting her to remark, “That’s how easy it is to kill Americans.”

DEA chemists briefed the Attorney General on the equipment, chemical components, and extensive scope of the fentanyl drug trade currently flooding American communities. The lab’s scientists work tirelessly to identify new drug compounds and production methods, providing crucial intelligence that helps law enforcement stay ahead of constantly evolving cartel tactics.

Trump Administration’s Response to the Crisis

Bondi’s visit highlighted the Trump administration’s prioritization of combating the illicit flow of fentanyl into the United States. The White House has increased pressure on drug cartels, including recently charging a high-ranking member of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang with terrorism offenses.

The administration has also linked the fentanyl crisis to its broader international trade and immigration policies. This approach includes holding Mexico, Canada, and China accountable through tariffs and diplomatic pressure to stop both illegal immigration and the flow of deadly synthetic drugs across American borders.

Trump Rolls Out NEW Executive Order.....President Donald Trump has announced an executive order that will require commercial truck drivers to understand English.

Trump Order To Require Truck Drivers Understand English

Trump Rolls Out NEW Executive Order

President Donald Trump has announced an executive order that will require commercial truck drivers to understand English.

Trump has called for strict enforcement of a rule requiring that commercial drivers be proficient in English, pointing out that it is a major safety concern if they cannot understand road signs or directions.

Breitbart News obtained a White House document about the executive order, which stated: “President Trump believes that English is a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers, as they should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officers, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station personnel, and provide and receive feedback and directions in English.”

Further, the executive order calls on Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy to “rescind and replace guidance to strengthen inspection procedures for compliance with English proficiency requirements.”

Duffy will also be required to evaluate the protocols used to verify the authenticity of Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs), and will be tasked with improving the working conditions of truckers via “additional administrative, regulatory, or enforcement actions.”

The White House further noted that the existing federal standard that requires commercial drivers to read and speak English “has not been enforced,” which puts not only the commercial drivers at risk, but others on the road at risk as well.

Trump’s executive order “mandates revising out-of-service criteria to ensure drivers violating English proficiency rules are placed out-of-service, enhancing roadway safety.”

The founders of American Truckers United celebrated the executive order in a post on X.

“On behalf of America’s Truck Drivers, we, the founders of American Truckers United, extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy for the executive order mandating English proficiency for all truck drivers and addressing the critical issue of Non-Domicile CDLs,” the post read. “This decisive action enhances safety on our roadways and takes us one step closer to restoring this critical industry to its greatness.”

“It is truly an answered prayer for our American Truck drivers and the families of Scott Miller and Mark Bryant,” the post continued, referring to two victims who lost their lives at the hands of non-English speaking truck drivers, both of whom were allegedly illegal aliens.

This comes after Trump signed an executive order in March that formally declared English to be the official language of the United States. The order, titled “Designating English as the Official Language of The United States,” highlights the fact that English has been the country’s language since “the founding of our Republic.”

“Our Nation’s historic governing documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, have all been written in English,” the order states. “It is therefore long past time that English is declared as the official language of the United States. A nationally designated language is at the core of a unified and cohesive society, and the United States is strengthened by a citizenry that can freely exchange ideas in one shared language.”
