Luna (Levana) Cohen, one of the most colorful and memorable residents of Jerusalem's Old City, has passed away.
Nearly every visitor to the Old City in recent decades has met Luna, who had a very unique style of interaction with visitors.

    Levana passed away. Levana was a beggar in Jerusalem's Old City and a colorful, often unpleasant personality. Who hasn't been yelled at by her?
    But she was a co...nstant part of the Old City landscape for decades and was known by all who frequented the area. Apparently she donated an aron kodesh in one of the rooms of the Ramban synagogue.
    The Old City is a place of both beauty and unpleasantness. All of which plays a role in contributing to the unique character that we love. So it's sad to lose a key player in the drama that is Jerusalem.

Failed Carjacking Near Maaleh Shomron
On Saturday night, a car tried to block another car driven by a Jewish woman on Road 55 between Nebi Elias and Tachsin, which is in the area of Maaleh Shomron, according to a Tazpit report.
...
A man got out of the blocking car’s passenger side and tried to get into the woman’s vehicle – but she locked the doors in time.
The man then smashed the windows of the woman’s car.
The Jewish woman managed to drive off and reached safety at the town of Karnei Shomron.
