Tattooed On His Palm!

Three of my kids have gotten tattoos. I do not like them and wish they had never gotten them. Then again, I read how our Father has tattooed us on the palm of His hands. Don’t believe me? Look in the forty-ninth chapter of Isaiah:
Sing with joy, you heavens!
    Rejoice, you earth!
Break into shouts of joy, you mountains!
    Yahweh has comforted his people
and will have compassion on his humble people.
But Zion said, “Yahweh has abandoned me.    My Adonay has forgotten me.”
Can a woman forget her nursing child?
Will she have no compassion on the child from her womb?
    Although mothers may forget,
    I will not forget you.
I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Your walls are always in my presence” (Isaiah 49:13-16)
Have you ever felt like that? Have you believed that He has abandoned you? My friend, He will never leave you nor forsake you and He certainly will never forget you. He could never forget you any more than a mother could forget her nursing child! Your Father declared that He engraved you in the palm of His Hand!
That’s right; the Hebrew word used is חָקַק chaqaq {khaw-kak’}, it means to “cut in or on,” “engrave,” “inscribe.” Another translation uses the word, “tattoo.” So, there you go. The Lord has tattooed you to the palm of his hand! A tattoo is an indelible, in-erasable mark than can never be removed. Whenever He stretches out his hand, He is reminded of you and your needs! That is why the Psalmist shouts, “Sing with joy! Rejoice! Break into shouts of joy! Our God continually comforts his people and will have compassion on whoever will humble themselves to His will and desires.
You may indeed go through trials and sufferings; you may experience loss and emotional pains during your life and the older you become, the more trials you will face. You may even experience many regrets and never grow to be all that you wish to be in the Lord. But you can know one thing more than anything else: You are a delight to him!
I admit that have not arrived to level I desire, but he has still made me a member of His remnant. Despite all of my failures and weaknesses, I believe with all my heart I am a royal crown, a diadem in his hand, a delight to his soul. He is not mad at me — he delights in me!
Like the psalmist I can cry:
I will rejoice and be glad because of your mercy.
    You have seen my misery.
You have known the troubles in my soul.
You have not handed me over to the enemy.
You have set my feet in a place where I can move freely” (Psalm 31:7-8, 19).
Your Father has given you everything you need to be free and victorious. He has seen your condition and all that you have experienced this past year — and He cares. Isn’t that great? It is one thing to know about your situation, but it is another to care, and to do something to resolve it. Your Father will cuddle you as you call on him and he is ready to help you that moment.
