Ivanka Trump was cornered by NBC News in an interview that aired on Monday’s Today show about her father’s alleged affairs.
Correspondent Peter Alexander asked something the network never has of other first daughters, such as Chelsea Clinton: “Do you believe your father’s accusers?”
Ivanka responded:
“I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated that there’s no truth to it. I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters. I believe my father, I know my father, so, I think I have that right as a daughter to believe my father.”
As Newsbusters noted in its coverage of this media hypocrisy, NBC has a long history of never asking Bill Clinton’s daughter if she believed her father was a rapist. Even former NBC employee Matt Lauer, now outed as a sexual predator himself, coddled Chelsea in interviews and only hinted at her father’s misconduct with vague references like “the darkest moments of [her] family’s past.” But never a direct question like Alexander posed to Ivanka.
Also, Seth Meyers, who hosts his late night talk show on NBC, was careful when talking to Chelsea when she guested during the 2016 election: “Certainly this last week we've seen some of the more brutal attacks from the other side. You must feel like your family has been attacked for so long, are you, do you feel numb to it now or is it still hard to watch and listen to?”
After the election, Today co-host Savannah Guthrie was concerned for Chelsea that her family was going through yet another tough time with her mother’s election loss and wanted to know what she was feeling “as a human” not a daughter in a highly political family.
Meanwhile, the leftist media feels comfortable grilling Ivanka on her father, whom they hate so much.
Watch below:
One point in the interview we’re sure chafed the anti-gun network was when Ivanka doubled down on her father’s idea to arm certain teachers to prevent schools from being gun-free zone soft targets.
"Obviously, there would have to be an incredibly high standard for who would be able to bear arms in our school, but I think there is no one solution for creating safety,” Ivanka said. “I think that having a teacher who is armed who cares deeply about her students, or his students, and who is capable and qualified to bear arms is not a bad idea, but it is an idea that needs to be discussed.”
Surely they were looking for her to bash the idea like they do, but were sorely disappointed. Stay tuned to NBC News for further attacks on all members of the first family.
